Genevieve Campbell 1938 — 2016

Genevieve Campbell

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Genevieve Campbell of Kamloops, BC on January 16, 2016 at the age of 77 years.  She is survived by her three loving sons, Joseph Campbell of Revelstoke, BC, grandchildren Stephanie Campbell and Cheyanne Mingo, great grandchild Emma Campbell, Christian Campbell of St. Albert, AB and Shawn Campbell of Vancouver, BC.  She will also be dearly missed by her daughters-in-law Denise Maxwell and Jeannie Peeters.

Genevieve was born on March 23, 1938 and made British Columbia her home.  Her volunteer work with seniors and the infirm of Kamloops has given her great joy.  While in the service of others, Genevieve felt it important to involve her dog CC and trained her to be a respite animal.  She believed her service to others, above all else, was her calling.  She was a devout Roman Catholic and a Eucharistic Minister.  Genevieve served the St. John Vianney Parish, sang in the choir and served her church family with loving devotion.  Her voice could also be heard singing with the Kamloops Happy Choristers.

I alone cannot change the

world, but I can cast a stone

across the waters to create

many ripples.

(Mother Teresa of Calcutta)

Genevieve cast many ripples in her service to others. She loved and was loved.

Prayers will be recited on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 7:00pm at the St. John Vianney Parish Church.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11:00am in the Church with Monsignor Jerry Desmond Celebrant .  2826 Bank Road, Kamloops, BC.

I met Genevieve at the Hamlets where she brought communion, and a happy chat to my husband while he was in residence there. Genevieve spoke of her liking of his train pictures and talked in general of train travel etc. My husband had worked on the Railway for over 50 yr. He looked forward to your Mom’s visits. When he passed I gave Gen. a picture of a steam locomotive as a Thank you for her kindness. She rides a heavenly train now. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Your Mom will be missed but remembered by many.
