Joseph Burkatsky

May 12, 1928 – March 15, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe on March 15, 2017.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Olga, son Terry (Louise), Ron (Donna), David (Janna), six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.

Joe was born in Canora, Saskatchewan. He grew up on the farm but it was not to be, he moved to BC and worked for CN for forty years. Joe loved gardening, dancing, and ball. He also loved travelling to visit family on the prairies.

We will love you forever

The family would like to thank everyone for the care and kindness shown to Joe at Pine Grove.

The Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, March 20, 2017 in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 109 Tranquille Rd, Kamloops. Reverend Pavlo Myts, officiating.

To the Burkatsky family sorry to read of your loss. I knew Joe from CN North when I worked at the Servo centre. He always had a comment or joke and Henry Kienzler would shake his head when Joe got silly.

    Terry – Louise

Sorry I missed the service. Read the obit too late. Thou I haven’t seen Joe for many years – I still thought of him often and the lively discussions we had on and off the job
Great man – will miss him. Terry you now have big shoes to fill
