It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Smith announce her passing. Left to grieve her loss are her wonderful children Sharon (Butch) Beblow of Kamloops; Barry (Cindy) Smith of Australia; Jackie Smith of Roberts Creek; grandchildren Tawnia Wrabel, Corey Beblow, Jessica and Eve Smith; great granddaughter Braylee Beblow and her mommy Tania Wolstnholme. Also mourning her loss are her very special friends Kay Switzer and Beryl Betker and the many close knit friends and family whom she mothered or nursed over the years.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Lyle, her Father, Mother and Step-father; as well as Brothers Samuel, Ronald and Bill; Sisters-in-law Dora, Beatrice and Mildred; Brothers-in-law Archie and Douglas; and Son-in-law, Bob Krampitz.
She is survived by her brother Jake (Dawn Douglas) Goodman, sister in law Viroa Sampson, Ivy ( Allan ) Drake, Dora Goodman, Step-brother Howard (Ann) Enns and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Champion, Alberta on October 11, 1926, Betty trained at PTS in Red Deer to work with mentally and physically challenged people. She lived in Kelowna, Port Alberni, Vancouver, Burnaby, Kamloops, Chase and finally back to Kamloops. She was a charge nurse at Woodlands before transferring up to Tranquille in 1964. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 18, 2010.
In lieu of flowers a donation would be gratefully accepted for the Children’s Ward at RIH, 311 Columbia St., Kamloops, BC.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Kamloops Alliance Church, 233 Fortune Drive, on Saturday, July 24th, 2010 at 11:00 am.
