Stephen Matthew Zazulak 1964 — 2018

Stephen Matthew Zazulak

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Stephen Matthew Zazulak on February 5, 2018 after a couragious battle against cancer.  He is survived by his wife Lisa, daughter Tiffany, and son Carl. He is also survived by parents Carl and Natalie, brother Paul, sisters Theresa and Caroline Mackenzie (Scott).  Also survived by nephews and nieces Matthew, Devon, Lennet, Carter, Parker, and Tanner.

Stephen was born May 31, 1964 in Saskatoon, SK and was raised in Prince George, BC.  He moved to Kamloops in 1991 where he later met his wife and started his family.  Stephen enjoyed date nights with Lisa, doing archery with Carl, and working on family vehicles with Tiffany.

We are extremely grateful to Dr. Stefanyk, as well as the doctors and nursing staff at Royal Inland Hospital.

Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 pm with refreshments to follow in the hall.

My deepest condolences to Lisa, Tiffany, Carl and family for the loss of Stephen. Though we didn’t communicate often through the later years of our lives, my friendship with Stephen was very important to me. When we did connect, sometimes after several years, it was like we just spoke the week before. From our early days Ukrainian dancing back in the 70’s, to alter boys for St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, to driving around Prince George listening to hard rock and heavy metal on cassette in the 80’s, Stephen was an important part of my life and I will never forget him. I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to visit with Stephen at his home last year. We shared laughs, memories and tears. What was very apparent was the love Stephen had for Lisa and for his children who he spoke of with admiration and pride. Stephen’s physical health struggles plagued him for much of his life but never with me did he pity himself or give in to the negativity of his condition. Stephen, thank you for being my friend. I am proud of you and will visit you in my memories always.
