John Crerar 1964 — 2018

John Crerar

John of Kamloops, BC passed away suddenly on January 28, 2018 in a snowmobile accident.  Survived by his beloved partner Melina, his sons Vincent  and Kyle (Brittany),  mother Susan Oswald, father John (Mary), brother Rick (Colleen), sister Lisa (Paul & Aaron) and his faithful companions Char Char and Saber.  Predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his step-father, Ralph Oswald.

John loved life and anything with a motor.   He was fortunate enough to be able to turn that passion into a career, spending the last 11 years as a Maintenance Supervisor at Arrow Transportation.   John enjoyed his work and regarded his Arrow Transportation colleagues as his extended family.

“We will never forget John or his laugh but are comforted to know the family and friends that have gone before John are now once again able to enjoy his laugh in Heaven”

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Barriere Search and Rescue, Kamloops Search and Rescue or Wells Gray Search and Rescue in John’s name would be appreciated.

Celebration of life to be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00pm in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., Kamloops, BC.  Reception to follow.

John was our neighbor who became a good friend who was there for me when my guy was away and I needed a vehicle fix or just to watch him “test” drive his car and lay rubber in the cul de sac. We are truly heartfelt for his partner Melina and his family

You will always be my uncle John, And forever in my heart and memories. You were so good to me and I will never forget that. Years ago you made a huge sacrifice and took me and my brother into your home and helped raise us. You gave us a chance, a place to call home. You taught me so many things, like how to ride a dirt bike of course (brap brappppp). You were my father figure and if it wasn’t for you and auntie I don’t think I would be where I am today. Every time I look at the boys I see you, in there manourisms, there hard work ethic, and there thrill to ride anything fast. You were a big part of my life and I’m truly thankful for you. I’ll be having a glass of crown for you tonight, cuz I know damn well your having a glass up there hanging with Danny, so cheers Uncle John, I love you.

John, my friend, I’m going to miss seeing you on my trips to Kamloops. Miss your “expert advice”. I’ll always remember our early morning walk around Victoria, by the time we got back we had solved the world’s problems.

Look forward to seeing you again in the future, you’re going to be greatly missed.

WTF!!! Just found out this morning, & now the whole day has gone dark! Melina, Kyle, & Vince, if there’s ANYTHING you need from the Stevens’ family, you don’t hesitate to call. I’m really miffed I didn’t know about this horrible event in time to be there for ya. I’ve known him since high school, back in Richmond, & without a doubt he was one of the most stable & happy people I had the pleasure to party with, ALWAYS first with a laugh & never refused a shot. We’ll hoist a couple when next I see ya bud!

What a tragedy when you’re out in nature enjoying life. I met John at my brother’s, Dan Stevens, Celebration of Life last May. I knew a lot of Dan’s other friends when we were growing up but I had never met John. He struck me as an honest, caring and happy man. I live near 70 Mile House so I told him if him and the family were ever up that way to make sure to stop for a visit. We exchanged phone numbers and when last year’s wildfires were raging all around, he texted me often to see if I needed help and offering a place to stay at his home. My heartfelt condolences go out to Melina, Kyle and Vince and the rest of the family. I know John and Dan are up there having a wee nip of the good stuff and discussing hot, custom cars!

So sorry to hear about this. I met John after being involved in Arrows new building a few years back. Always enjoyed chatting with him about his Nova and bikes. A real straight shooter and stand up guy. RIP my friend.

Just found out about this! John (Blondie) was my former brother in law and at times, acted as a big brother. I havent seen him in years but always kept him close to heart. He taught me toughness and strength and not to suffer fools.
My deepest symphathies to the entire family, but especialy to Lisa. I am truly sad for your loss, Lisa, and hope you are dealing with this as best as you can.
