It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Singh Dhaliwal on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 74. David “Subby” was born and raised on the family farm in Kamloops and worked for the City of Kamloops for over 30 years. David was a passionate fisherman who enjoyed fishing with his boys. (You know the fish that got away, that was bigger every time!) David leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years, Brenda, his sons Dean (Annette); Neal (Sharon); his grandchildren who he loved very much, Tianna, Justine, Chantal and Tyler; also left to mourn is David’s brother Sone (Baljit), sisters in-law Ambo and Harjinder, and numerous nieces and nephews . David was predeceased by his siblings Saba, Jeto (George), Puro and Sadu. We, David’s family, would like to thank the staff in the ICU for all of their support and care. As per David’s request there will be no formal funeral service but an Open House will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Family Home. Donations may be made in David’s memory to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation. Flowers gratefully declined.

I was so sorry to hear the news. I have such fond memories of all the times I was blessed enough to spend with you as a child. I will always remember Uncle Dave sitting in his special chair and smoking his pipe and sitting by his foot stool and help rolling cigarettes.
Love you all very much. I can’t make it Friday but hoping I can make a trip up from the coast soon to come and see you. Miss you all very much. Xoxoxo

Dear Brenda, It really doesn’t seem that long ago when you and I first met David on that famous double date! The rest is history as they say.
Ron and I send our love and condolences to you and your entire family.
When we’re sitting out on your deck, it will not be the same without his smiling face peeking out the door.

I am really sorry to hear this. I only knew him as “Subby”. We were good friends, in the way only children know how. We spent many hours in Banta’s house and after so many years I still ,remember those days as the best. My sincere condolences to the family.
