Robert Max Bogula of Logan Lake passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 87 years of age. He is survived by his daughters Anne (Rob) Parrish of Robert’s Creek, Lynn (Paul) Good of Maple Ridge and Leslie (Peter) Bogula LaVigne of Red Deer; grandchildren Alex (Charlie), Brad, Kevin Parrish, and Spencer and Allie Good.
Bob was born in Montreal in 1932, raised his family with ex-wife Francoise in Vancouver, and spent happy retirement years in Logan Lake. He was involved in many community organizations and loved to spend time with his friends hunting, fishing, ATVing and socializing.
The family wishes to acknowledge his very dear friends Linda Dennison, Dave Crack and Les McDonell for their extraordinary love and great care. A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held in Logan Lake at a date yet to be decided.

Bob was a great friend of mine. We first met when we walked our dogs in the morning. My dog Umoja liked Bob’s new dog Tucker. Bob told me he was just taking Tucker for a short while, to see how he worked out. I could see in Bob’s eye how much he cared for Tucker and how they bonded more and more each day. There was no doubt Tucker had found a loving owner, and Bob had found a loyal companion.
Bob and I bonded that day too, becoming good friends; quading together, hunting together and sharing happy hour together.
Bob was one of the most optimistic men I knew. Very little ever got him done. He would always tell me that he had no time for negative people. He had a lot to do and wanted to be out in hunting camp with his friends when he was 92. He didn’t quite make it; his spirit and enthusiasm were there but his body wore down.
Bob loved hunting camp; he had a number of men trapped for a couple weeks forced to listen to his bad jokes, over and over. He made us all laugh. Bob belonged to many organizations, giving his time and experience. There was hardly anyone in town that didn’t know his laugh, or his dog. They went everywhere together.
I was proud to know Bob, and I will dearly miss him.

Bob was a valued member of our 2002 Penticton committee to host the North American Bluebird Society Conference. He was a great person and volunteer and we have very fond memories of him. We send our sincere sympathy in his loss.

Sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I haven’t seen Bob for a number of years but always remember him fondly from earlier times together. We first met while working together when ICBC first started up in 1973. We stealhead fished together a few times on the Thompson River near Shaw Springs and at Gold River along with some other ICBC co-workers. I moved to Kamloops in Summer 1974 but kept in touch and fished again with Bob on Badger Lake just north east of Kamloops. Bob was a much more accomplished fisherman than myself but we always had a great time (and a few Beers) together. I also remember one camping trip with Bob and daughters and an incident with a Moose involving a young Leslie (I think). I remember Bob as always happy, fun Loving, and ready with a good (or bad) joke. Again, sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Condolences to the family.
I meet Bob at a Southern Bluebird Society meeting. He came to our house and put up a dozen bluebird boxes. After that, we met a few times for coffee in Kamloops. He was very generous and helpful getting us set up and for that I will be forever grateful. A kind-hearted friendly man. So sorry he is gone.
I offer my condolences to Bob’s family. I met Bob many years ago while working for C U & C. He was always friendly and happy and yes he had a few jokes. He was a very nice man who had time to talk to office staff. The last time I saw Bob was after he moved to Logan Lake. I was on the road driving in Burnaby and my name was on my license plate & I heard a beep, beep. It was Bob! This makes me smile now. May he be doing all he loved up there in the heavens. In my mind I can see his smile.
