It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Eric Rowe, a remarkable man whose legacy will forever be etched in our hearts. Born in New Zealand in 1943, David’s journey on this earth came to an end in 2024, leaving behind a tapestry of memories and a life well-lived.
David was a self-made businessman, embodying the spirit of hard work and determination. In 1978, he embarked on a venture that would become his pride and joy, establishing his own pool and spa business named D.B. Pools, which became All Season Recreation in the early 80s. The enterprise flourished under his guidance until its official closure in 2011, a testament to his entrepreneurial ability.
A man of diverse talents, David also soared through the skies as a flight attendant with Air New Zealand and shared his passion for skiing as an instructor. David moved to Canada before settling in Kamloops.
He married Jackie, who brought along her daughter, Megan, from her previous marriage. Their union blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Erica and together they created a loving family. The Rowe household also welcomed the loyal and cherished family dog, Charlie.
David’s interests and hobbies were as varied as his accomplishments. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was losing himself in a good book, teeing off on the golf course, or navigating the open waters with a sailboat. A dedicated follower of the America’s Cup sailing competition, David’s enthusiasm for the sport was infectious. He also carved through snowy slopes as an avid skier and reveled in the allure of fancy cars.
A beloved father, David leaves behind his daughters, Erica and Megan, and a little piece of his heart in his grandson, Lukas, who will dearly miss his Papa. David’s household was also not complete without the wagging tails of his beloved golden retrievers, Rusty and Darby.
David is reunited with his family in eternal peace. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all of Dave’s friends for their unwavering support during this challenging time.
A Memorial Service to celebrate David’s life will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at 1:00 pm in the Kamloops Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Four Paws Food Bank Foundation at www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/four-paws-food-bank-foundation.

One Tribute
Dear Erica & Megan,
I was so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing and I send my heartfelt condolences to you both.
We of course lost touch after my divorce but we had some fun family times together. Erica you were pretty little so unlikely that you would remember.
Dave was an attendant at our wedding in 1983. He & Neil were quite close from having the commonalities of both being from Auckland, NZ and Dave also sailed with Neil’s older brother Ron at the same yachting club. They both passionately followed the America’s Cup.
Neil passed in Tonga in 2022.
May your fond memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
With sincere sympathy,
Brenda Jenkin
