In the early morning on Saturday May 4th 2024, our Mother, Mabel Levesque was finally freed from Lewy Body Dementia. Just five days short of her ninety first birthday.
Mom was born on May 9th, 1933 in Montreal, Quebec. She married our Dad on June 18th, 1955. They had three daughters together. In 1971, they moved to Kamloops, BC to start a better life. Mabel worked for many years at the BC Government Agents Office. She retired in 1988.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Peter (2013). Her daughter Gail (2023) and her parents and siblings. She is survived by her daughter Teresa, daughter Diane (Darrel), grandchildren David (Robin), Elliott (Andrea), Danielle, Chris, Nicole (Jeff) and Matia (Ian) and great grandchildren Kendra, Maiya, Keanan, Mason, Audriana, Noah, and Emmy.
Mabel was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always provided love and support. Her family was everything to her and we loved her so much. While we are devastated by our lose we are happy that she is finally free of the dementia that so cruelly took her from us. She is now free from pain and enjoying being reunited with her loved ones.
We would like to express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Howie and the many staff, nurses and caregivers at Overlander Extended Care who took such great care of mom for the past three years.
Father Peter Nguyen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, 635 Tranquille Road. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers we would kindly request that donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Kamloops in memory of Mabel.
Condolences may be sent to the family from www.kamloopsfuneralhome.com.
