RYAN JOHN BENOIT 1982 — 2025

RYAN JOHN BENOIT

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Ryan John Benoit on August 3, 2025 at the age of 42 .  He was born on November 25, 1982 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

He was the cherished son of Lenny and Judy Benoit. Left to treasure his memory are his devoted brothers, Kristian (and sister-in-law Natalie) and Andre. He was a proud and loving uncle to Emmali, Brooke, and Dominic. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins in Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island.

A skilled tradesman, Ryan built a career as a Red Seal UA Local 170 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union member, working on projects at various sites across British Columbia. In more recent years, he worked in maintenance at several camps throughout the province.

Ryan was a kind and genuine man who preferred to do things his own way.  Never one to seek the spotlight, he carried himself with an easygoing nature, treating everyone he knew and met with politeness, and quiet friendliness.

Deep in our hearts we believe Ryan knew he was loved very much.  In recent years, Ryan experienced health challenges that began to weigh heavily on him.  He faced them in his own way, with the quiet approach that was true to his nature.

While his passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, there is comfort in knowing that his pain has ended and that he has found peace.  Ryan will be remembered with love and fondness for his easy smile, his laid-back nature, and the way he connected with people in a genuine and unassuming way.

Those who knew him will carry with them the memories, stories, and moments that made him who he was, and his presence will be missed more than words can express.

Ryan, you are very much loved and deeply missed by us all.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Kamloops Funeral Home at 285 Fortune Drive on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 1:00pm

“Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be more than a thought apart
for as long as there is memory, they’ll live on within our hearts.”

The Benoit family is deeply thankful for the many phone calls, messages of condolence, and beautiful flowers sent by family and friends in Kamloops and from back east.
In memory of Ryan, please consider an act of kindness to help give someone else an “easygoing” kind of day.
