It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our Mom on April 16th 2026 at the Royal Inland Hospital.
Mom was born at the Royal Inland Hospital on January 3, 1932 and grew up on the North Shore, attending North Kamloops Elementary and Kamloops High School, before taking a Commercial Class at St. Ann’s Academy where she excelled in typing and shorthand. During this time, she made many friends – friends that would last a lifetime. Mom was always faithful and dedicated to the people, places and things she loved. She lived her entire life in Kamloops, living in the same home for almost 70 years.
Mom married the love of her life Stanley Hilton Moore on October 27, 1951 and they had 2 children; Corinne Lee in 1957 and Mark Stanley in 1959. They were happily married for 53 years before Dad passed away in 2004.
Mom and Dad loved to travel, visiting many parts of Canada. One of their favourite vacation spots was Victoria. They enjoyed having high-tea at the Empress Hotel and breathing the sea air while walking along the harbour. Mom always said she had saltwater in her veins. She loved collecting all things miniature but especially treasured her Limoges figurines which she often brought back with her from their trips.
Mom loved cooking and baking. Even later in life when Dad developed special dietary restrictions, Mom applied her expert knowledge and skills and was able to adapt recipes to fit Dad’s needs and continued to make delicious meals and treats. A lot of her recipes have been passed down to and appreciated by younger generations.
Her talents did not end in the kitchen. One of Mom’s favourite hobbies was painting portraits and landscapes and her art has been admired by many throughout the years. Another passion was knitting and sewing for her family. She created many beautiful blankets, sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens that are still treasured to this day.
Mom had a way of making everyone feel important, appreciated and loved.
Each and every phone call or visit ended with her saying “I love you.”
There has been a lifetime full of hugs and kisses.
Mom is survived by her daughter Corinne (Wesley Nevius) and grandchildren Justin, Julia and Alicia (John Cochran) and great grandsons (Noah and Elliot), her son Mark (Cindy) and grandchildren Matthew (Sadie) and Nicole.
She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews as well as honourary nieces and their families.
Mom was predeceased by her husband – Stan (2004), her father – Franklin (1960) mother – Jean (1966), brothers – Maurice (1939), James (1973) and sister Evelyn Murray (2007), her sister-in-law Jean Stanley (2012) and brother-in-law Kinley Murray (2006).
The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday,, April 23rd, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops.
