It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mrs. Sukhraj Kaur Sandhu.
Biji passed away the morning of January 10, 2015. Biji was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She was a gentle soul with a kind, loving and tender heart. Biji was always smiling. She will be missed dearly.
Biji started her life in Punjab, India and moved to Canada with her husband in 1983.
She is survived by her son Pinder (Tejinder) and daughter in-law Parminder; brother Joginder Singh Bal (Joginder), son in-law Rattan Singh Kang (Baljit), daughter Preetam Rhandhawa (Harjinder) and grandchildren Preet, Bikram, Charanjit, Ramandeep, Hardeep, Beetal, Ivlanu, Jaspreet Bains (Narinder), Ravi, Harinder and great grandchild Kaviraj. Biji also leaves behind many nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Darshan Singh, her parents and one sister, son Jitto Bittu, daughter Surinder Kang, two brothers in-law Harbax and Jagjit, and sister in-law Surjit Kaur and Jugdeesh (Jagir Singh).
Special thanks to all those who made Biji’s last few years as comfortable as possible. This includes Dr. Grant Del Begio, Dr. Selena Lawrie, the caring staff at Ponderosa Lodge, Kamloops Senior Village, Royal Inland Hospital.
A Celebration of Biji’s Life will be held on Saturday January 17th, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive. Cremation to follow at Pine Grove Crematorium in the Hillside Cemetery. Following the cremation services, family and friends are invited to the Sikh Cultural Temple, 700 Cambridge Street for prayers and a luncheon.
