March 31, 1949 – February 4, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James (Jim) George Moskalyk, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 75 in Kamloops, BC.
Jim was born on March 31, 1949, in Fairview, Alberta, to his loving parents, Peter and Etnie Moskalyk. He grew up in the Peace River region and graduated from North Peace High School in 1967. Soon after, he discovered his lifelong passion for operating heavy equipment, a career that would define much of his working life.
In 1968, while working in Chetwynd, BC, Jim met Donna Rosenau. Together, they had three children: Rachelle, Carie, and Corie. Though their paths later diverged, Jim found love again in 1987 when he met Bonnie, embracing a new chapter with her and her three children: Chantelle, Danielle, and Marc.
Jim’s career as a heavy equipment operator spanned decades, and he took great pride in his work. However, due to health issues, he retired in 2014 at the age of 64. In retirement, he devoted himself to his family, cherishing his time with his children and grandchildren. Whether cheering on his favorite sports teams, tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, or simply sharing stories and laughter, Jim made the most of his days with those he loved.
Jim is survived by his sisters Judi, Candi, and Gloria; his brother Dale; his children Rachelle, Corie, Carie, Chantelle, and Danielle; and his beloved grandchildren Dylan, Marc, Taylor, Jesimae, Mariah, JJ, and Cian. He is predeceased by his parents, Pete and Etnie; his brothers Glen (and sister-in-law Terry) and Tom; his brother-in-law Vic; his son Marc Jr.; and his granddaughter Tegan. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and wisdom that will be forever cherished.
Though he is gone, Jim’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at 11:00am in The Kamloops Funeral Home.
