Rocco Taylor Santoro resident of Kamloops passed away on April 27th at 91 West Seymour Street, he was just days short of his 38th Birthday.
Rocco was born in Kamloops, where he was also raised. He attended Dufferin Elementary school and graduated from Sahali Secondary.
He worked for a short time at the End of the Roll Carpets and received three best salesman awards. Rocco went to Grande Prairie to be a janitor at the hospital. He then went to a sheet metal shop. He decided to make this his trade, having moved to Calgary to work and do his apprenticeship program at a sheet metal shop. Through the program he went to S.A.I.T and received his red seal journeyman papers in sheet metal. His one big job was helping in the construction of the pediatric hospital in Calgary and was very proud of that.
Rocco decided to come home and he worked in Kamloops as well as the oilfields in Northern Alberta. Rocco began having some mental health issues and through the mission and programs offered by Kamloops he began getting help and getting back on his feet.

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Lorne Cook passed away peacefully on April 24, 2018, with his loving wife by his side at Overlander Extended Care. Lorne is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of 63 years, his four sons; Rod(Judy), Randy(Muki), Tim(Sheila), Corey(Shannon) and one daughter, Patti (Glenn). As well as seven grand children and two great grandchildren; Jayme, Jenna, Kole, Lexi, Nicole, Mitch, Mathew, two sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews’. Lorne is pre deceased by his loving son Ted Cook along with 8 sisters and one brother.

Andy (Andrew) Melnychuk of Kamloops passed away on April 19, 2018 at 91 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife, Nettie, children Belinda (Brent) Parke, Janet (Stan) Poirier, Lyle (Jeanette) Melnychuk, grandchildren, Alexa, Trevor, Lindsay, Colin, Justin, Shaun (Heidi), Jennifer (Rich), great-grandchildren Zachary and Connor. Austin Joseph Gallagher left us on April 17, 2018, in Kamloops, BC, at the young age of 17.
He is survived by his Mother, Kym Gallagher, his Siblings; Curtis Bowerbank, Alyssa Bowerbank & Cierra Gallagher. He is also survived by many family members; Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, Cousins etc.
Austin was born in Langley, BC on March 8, 2001. Since August of 2003, he resided and grew up to be an amazing young man, in Kamloops, BC. Austin experienced a few different schools from Grade 3-11, and is well known throughout the city by many people. Austin has touched people’s lives wherever he went and therefore; has touched the lives of so many.
Austin’s most cherished times, were during the Summer Season, when he could spend his time at Gardom Lake Bible Camp. He has had a lot of great moments there over the last 6 years, with his younger Sister, Cierra. Austin spent 3 weeks last summer, as a Junior Staff member, at Gardom Lake and made some awesome memories. He was looking forward to attending again this Summer for his 7th year. Randi George Ayres passed away in Kamloops on April 16, 2018 at the age of 61.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Kato, sons, Arthur (Sarah), Alex and Andrew and step daughters, Meghan Porterfield (Shawn Poitras) and Erin Humphrey (Ben). He is also survived by his grandson, Ivyr Ayres and step grandchildren, Jeffery, Brieanna and Emma Poitras as well as his sister, Jane Bogie (Randy) from Gold River, BC, his aunt Denise Lemasurier (Peter) from Rousseau, ON, sister in law, Gail Read from Calgary, AB and his niece, Miranda and, nephew, Patrick.
Randi was born July 5, 1956 in Gimli, MB. As his father was in the Canadian Air Force, they relocated several times throughout his childhood and eventually settled in Courtenay, BC. Randi’s ability to care and his desire to serve and help those in dire need will not be forgotten. He would put his life on the line to protect others. His path to service first began in the Canadian military. Eventually, he transitioned into fire fighting.
He spent over 30 years in the fire service industry and then branched out into ironworking. The past few years he was a safety officer and worked in BC and AB.
Randi enjoyed many sun filled vacations with great friends and puttering with his 1963 Valiant 200 Signet convertible. Read More & Leave Condolences »
