Bertha Roming 1900 — 2014

Bertha Roming

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bertha Roming of Kamloops, BC, on April 21st, 2014 at 95 years of age. Bertha is survived by her children Bill (Marian) Roming of Chilliwack, BC, Dennis Roming of Kamloops, BC, and Joyce Holm of Kamloops, BC. Also left to cherish Bertha’s memory are six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as brothers and sisters Herb (Bertha) Kreger, Norman (Ella) Kreiger, and Alice Stewart.

Bertha is predeceased by her husband Fred, son Don, her mother Mary, father Reinhold, brothers Lloyd and Albert, sister Grace, and grandson Paul.

Mom lived at the “Hamlets”, and loved attending Pub night every Thursday to listen to the different bands that came in to play their music. She was also known as the “Knitting Queen”, making toques for the babies at the Royal Inland Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses in emergency, and to Sue for taking such good care of Grandma. Thank you to the Hamlets staff for taking care of Mom.

A Graveside Service for Bertha will take place at the Chilliwack Cemetery later in the summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bertha’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.

We send our love and sympathy to you. It is hard to say that final Goodbye to your Mother.

I enjoyed knowing your Mother as a wonderful parent of one of our majorettes and drill team and a drummer with our accordion band which was lots of years ago. Lots of fun old memories.
    Blessings to you.
