With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Clarence Joseph Hanghofer of Kamloops who passed away at his home on Monday April 6, 2026 at the age of 87.
Clarence was born in Canwood Saskatchewan, February 17, 1939 to parents Joseph and Marie Hanghofer, shortly after his birth the family moved to Osoyoos, BC. Clarence graduated from Oliver Secondary School in 1957, joined the army from 1961 to 1963. Clarence married Judith (Judy) Anne Reitmeier November 22, 1963 then bought and lived on an orchard. So sorry Daryl for your loss also to your mom ( Judy ) and of course the rest of your family
Clearance was such a great man!
My dear Friend Clarence, you and I had a very special bond. You loved a firm hand shake a real hug. I would tease you at the Adult Day Centre and you would laugh. Always asking, can you turn up or down my hearing aid. You always wanted everyone to be treated with treats, every time you came. I will miss you dearly and our friendship. May God Bless you, hold you and until we meet again in Heaven, you’re going to have to wait a little longer for your juice.
I have shared so many memories of you, Clarence, with my two boys, Brenden and Jayden, here in Winnipeg. My visits to Kamloops during my childhood and young adulthood will never be forgotten. I still cherish the memories of those remote fishing spots you brought us to, and the time spent at your home with my cousins and Auntie Judy, as well as our visits with Grandma and Grandpa.
Your kindness was overwhelming, and your spirit will always remain with us. We will miss you dearly. I’m grateful to remain in contact with Bryan, Doug, and Daryl, who keep me connected to our family’s journey. Sending hugs and so much love from all of us here in Winnipeg to the Hanghofer family in Kamloops.
