
Daniel McGuire of Kamloops, BC, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 7, 2026, at 75 years of age.
Dan is survived by his wife, Vivian, and their three children: Kerry (Chris) of Fairview, AB; Robert (Michelle) of Lloydminster, AB; Darren (Brittany) of Prince George, BC.
Dan’s extended family includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Cody, Krystal & Jordyn Nichiporik; Mia and Emersyn McGuire; Tatum and Ryann McGuire; Erika, Dakota, Mace Coleman; Andrea, Dallas, Elizabeth, Cecelia Covert.
Dan was born in 1951 at Nipawin, SK. He was the 4th of 6 children born to Timothy Gerald McGuire and Helen (née Sullivan).
Dan leaves behind his siblings: Marie Pratchler, Pat (Kathy) McGuire, Gerald (Eileen) McGuire, Dwain (Fran) McGuire, Arlene (John) Lumsden. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and so many others.
Dan loved watching TV, curling, camping, woodworking and stamp collecting. He spent his entire working career with CN Rail. He was a laborer, equipment operator, mechanic, supervisor and inventor. He was a union member and then worked his way up to management. Even though work kept him busy, he ensured that he was actively involved with his children and family. Grampa Dan was also known for his sweet tooth, loud snoring, witty sense of humor and wicked one-liners.
A memorial service will be held at a future date and Dan will be laid to rest in the Women’s Institute Cemetery in Grimshaw, AB, where his parents are both buried.
Special thanks to the wonderful care staff at Ridgeview Lodge (Kamloops) where Dan lived since October 2024.

My sincere condolences to you alll. I hadn’t seenDanny since we were kids but always kept abreast of his welfare through Vivian and Gerald and Eileen. Rest in Peace, Danny.

I knew Dan in the three years we spent in the Berwyn Air Cadet Squadron. I remember him as being a real character, confident and full of life.
