DONALD ROGERS 1940 — 2026

DONALD ROGERS

Donald Rodgers passed away peacefully at home in Kamloops on August 17th, 2026, with his family at his side.

Don was an athletic, principled, self-determined man who believed in giving back to his community. He played hockey with the Regina Pats, the University of Michigan, and the first cross-Canada Olympic hockey team. He coached multiple sports teams, was an active member of several clubs and committees, was on the provincial education advisory board for the social studies/history curriculum, and while on Council of Chase he started the Recreation Commission. He grew plots of vegetables to donate to the Kamloops Food Bank and enjoyed travelling, hiking, history, cross country skiing, white water canoeing, baseball, and reading.

He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1940. Don leaves his wife of 57 years, Sharon (Brierley) and 2 daughters, Ylan (Ryan) and Laurren (Michael), of whom he was immensely proud for their intelligence, talents, and kindness. He also leaves two greatly loved grandchildren, William and Anna. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Alma, and 3 siblings, Bobby, Brian, and George.

Rest in peace, My Love.
