Joseph Napoleon Laurent L’ Heureux 1933 — 2014

Joseph Napoleon Laurent L’ Heureux

Larry passed away peacefully on May 16th, 2014 surrounded by loved ones.

Larry was born in Arvilla, Alberta, Oct 26th, 1933.  He married Lorraine Love on September 28th, 1957 in Edmonton, Alberta.  They resided in Calgary, Alberta where they had their two sons, David and Darrell.  They moved to BC where Larry worked in his father’s (Harry) portable sawmill, with brothers Alfred, Donnie and Eddy.

This was the start of Larry and his sons venturing into his own contracting business “Larry L’Heureux Logging”. He pioneered the roadside logging method, which is still used by most contractors today.

After retiring to Kamloops, Larry enjoyed his life long love of flying and travelling.

Larry will be sadly missed by his 6-grandchildren, 7- step-grandchildren, and 3-great grandchildren.  He will be remembered for his unique way of telling stories.

An extra special thank you to Jodi, his loving granddaughter for always lending a helping hand when needed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2S9.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC.

Well hell, coffee at the mall will never be the same. We will miss Larry’s quick wit and those dancing eyes when he was giving someone the gears.
He was a very good friend, honest, solid, kind and he enjoyed life to the fullest.
His cup was always “half full”.
We are missing him a lot already.

Well hell, coffee at the mall will never be the same without Larry.
We will miss his quick wit, and those dancing eyes when he was giving someone “the gears” or asking one of his crazy questions.
Very few people are as honest, as strong, as fun-loving and as kind as Larry. He lived life to the fullest and with “great gusto” and a sense of adventure.
I am sure he made a similar impact on anyone else who took the time to get to know him well.
Sandra & I have felt privileged to have known Larry and will miss him greatly.
Take care of yourself Lorraine. You are constantly in our thoughts.

Lorraine, David, Darrell and families. We were deeply saddened when we learned of Uncle Larry’s passing. One will never forget the mischevious grin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
