Lorne Dale Robson

It is with sadness that we announce the quiet and peaceful passing of Lorne Robson on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the age of 71 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sonja, daughters Connie Robson of Surrey and Corrine (Kelly) Robson of Chilliwack, son Jamie Robson of North Delta, niece Nina (Jamie) Hendren (nee Rasmussen) of Victoria; grandchildren Rebecca, Michaela, Phoenix, Calvin, Cameron, Tyus and Talia, great grandchildren Olivia and Ozzy, sisters Lynn (Rod) Brick, Leslie (Percy) Williams, Donalda (Ray) Gauthier, Maryanne (Pete) Rogers, Michelle (Craig) Robson and Lois (Frank) McCann, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Mercede Robson, brothers Don, Peter, Rob and Jimmy, and sister Laura.

Lorne was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1949. He moved to Vancouver in 1966. He worked at Pemberton Shell where he met his gorgeous wife Sonja in 1968. Together Lorne and Sonja opened Pemberton Automotive in North Vancouver in 1986 and ran it for 20 years. They retired and moved to the Kootenays, living there for 10 years before finally moving to Chilliwack. Lorne loved to fish and the family camping trips to Horse Lake.

Dad you will be missed greatly and forever in my heart. I am so happy i was there for your last days. You are the greatest dad anyone could ask for, i wouldn’t change it for the world. I will miss you coming over to my place and showing me how to operate all my new tools. I will especially miss our talks about woodworking and so many other things and all your helpful tips. You were a smart man, I love you so much dad. Love Corrine

Love you and I’ll never forget you Dad. You were always there for us. I’ll miss our time out on the lake not catching any fish. I’ll miss your sense of humour, which you never lost right till the end. Like when you asked the nurse for some viagra, to keep from falling out of bed, lol!

Thanks Lawrence and Kamloops funeral home! You went out of your way to help us during this difficult time. I will never forget that, it meant a lot to us!

    RIP Dad

    Regards, James

Memories of Lorne; I fondly think of “Scramble” being shouted out ,usually on a Friday payday. I truly think Lorne just loved to see the smiles on all the neighborhood kids faces making a mad dash and dogpile. Demolition Derby cars in the back alley and giving the kids a ride. Whisker burns and slicked back hair.
    And of course fishing!
Did they actually let you in up there Lorne?
    Rest in peace, forever remembered.

I’m going to miss you so much Grandpa! You were very very loved. I’m going to miss your racist jokes and being flicked on my ears every time you’d walk by me. I love you so much, rest easy and out of pain, see ya on the other side xoxoxo
