In 2016 my partner and I were able to visit with my Aunt Louise, cousin David and his partner Maureen. It had been 38 years since I last saw Aunt Louise and David. Maureen and David prepared a delicious dinner for all of us and hosted us for an overnight stay. This was a huge highlight of my first trip from Nova Scotia across Canada.
My memories of Louise are mainly when she lived with Uncle Arnie (my Dad’s brother) at their mother’s (Bessie, my grandmother) home in Central Onslow, NS. The last home I believe they lived in before heading out west was in Lower Onslow.
Aunt Louise was the secretary at Central Colchester High School where I went to school.
I always remember her fondness for dogs and in particular cocker spaniels.
Louise was a gentle, caring soul. She was a survivor through some difficult times throughout her life but she always took care of those she loved and was closest to. You will be missed Aunt Louise, not just by David, Maureen, Chris and grandchildren but those who are family in Nova Scotia. Love, Mary

I worked with Louise many years ago at John Tod Elementary, she was the Library aide and she was kind and helpful to everyone. Louise had a wonderful sense of humor, there was always laughter when she was around. God Bless Louise, sincere condolences to the family.

I just heard about Louise’s passing. I was the librarian at John Tod and worked many years with her. To put it mildly, we had ball! She was wonderful and I know she enjoyed every day she worked there. It was one of the highlights of my career to have shared the time with her. We had a lot of laughs because of her jokes and great sense of humor. I loved the stories of Beau and Joe, her little dogs that were so important to her. I can’t forget how she often spoiled me with a morning scone from Tim Hortons. What a great woman! I will always remember dear Louise.
