Audrey Coxon

January 12, 1947 – April 10, 2015

 Audrey passed away on April 10, 2015 at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House in the presence of her loving family, after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Audrey will be eternally missed by her husband, best friend and soul mate of 49 years, Ron, all of her special “boys” and family both near and far. She will be dearly missed by her children Paul (Jennifer) and Michael (Wanda) all of Kamloops B.C. as well as grandchildren, Gavin, Mitchell, Mathiew, Alex, Devyn, Ayla, Madison and her great grandchildren Ryder, Jaxyn, and Fynn. She will also be dearly missed by her brother and sister, Alan (Sophie) Weatherall, and Christine (Sraham) Smith all of England. She also leaves to cherish her memory relatives, Karen, Joe, Emma and Ian in England, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.K. Audrey is predeceased by her mother Louisa and her father Christopher. Audrey was born in Seaham, County Durham, England, the youngest of three children, to Christopher and Louisa Weatherall. She met her husband Ron, fell in love, and they were married in 1966. They then started their family of two sons, Paul and Mike. The family immigrated to Canada in 1977, first to Leaf Rapids, Manitoba, then to Logan Lake, B.C. and finally, settling in Kamloops. Audrey spent most of her working life in retail, where she met and touched the hearts of many, many people. She loved people and had lots of really good friends. She always had a smile for everyone and could tell a good joke at the drop of a hat. Audrey was an infectious personality that could bring happiness and harmony to any occasion. She was a wonderful, loving, caring Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma to her boys.

 A light has gone from here but a bright new one twinkles in the heavenly sky

 Special thanks to Dr. B. Proctor and the wonderful staff at R.I.H. Cancer Clinic, for the years of special care, and also to the dedicated and caring staff and volunteers at the Kamloops Hospice  for making Audrey’s final days so nice and peaceful. Donations in Audrey’s memory would be appreciated by the family towards the BC Cancer Clinic or the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice House. Flowers gratefully declined.The Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., with Pastor Brian Arnold officiating.

Joseph LeBourdais 1929 — 2015

Joseph LeBourdais

Joseph LeBourdais of Kamloops, BC passed away on April 11, 2015 at the age of 85. Survived by his loving wife Lorraine (Nolan). Children: Della (Merle) Fellhauer of Kamloops, Daphne (Mark) LeBourdais of Watford City ND, Gary (Jennifer) LeBourdais of Kamloops, Sandra LeBourdais of Kamloops, Jerry (Tracy) LeBourdais of Kamloops, Edward (Deana) LeBourdais of Kamloops, Barry (Jessie-Ann) LeBourdais of Kamloops. Grandchildren: Jolene, Tye (Delaney), Joseph (Jolene), Stephanie (Jay), Lori, Tanner (Jordi), Darcy (Jodi), Taylor, Adam, Hannah, Derian, Nicole, Marty, Logan, Ben, Joshua, Braden, Denny, Shay, Christine, Mathew. Great Grandchildren: Kayla, Tiegan, Kiara, Zoey, Dominic, Dainah, Liam, Wyatt, Morgan, Levi, Emma, Kaelyn, Olivia. Siblings:  Violet LeBourdais, Mary Hewitt, Norah LeBourdais, Richard LeBourdais Other relatives: numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pre-deceased by:  Parents Eddie and Alice (Fletcher) LeBourdais, brothers Eugene, Sonny, Turner.  Daughter Deborah, son Larry.

Joe was born in Williams Lake, BC and raised in Clinton at 8 Mile Ranch and then relocated to Whispering Pines in Kamloops.  Joe married Lorraine Nolan in 1955 and started his family.  Joe was a logger, hunting guide, rancher, and rodeo legend.  He also served as Chief and a Councillor for the Whispering Pines/Clinton Indian Band for many, many years.  Ranching and Rodeo was his life; he had many accomplishments which included being awarded the BC Rodeo Cowboy Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993 and was inducted into the BC Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2011.  Joe was well known for his guitar playing and singing with his wife Lorraine. Funeral Services will be held Thursday April 16, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Kamloops Funeral Home.  Following the service friends are invited to join the family at Kenny Manuel’s Kaktus Flats Ranch.In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to BC Little Britches Rodeo Association or the BC High School Rodeo Association in Joe’s memory.

Lucy Ellen Williams 1922 — 2015

Lucy Ellen Williams

Lucy Ellen completed her life’s journey tranquilly, overlooking the river, on a beautiful, sunny day with her daughters by her side, on April 7, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, husband David in 1961 and daughter, Gwenyth, in 2002. Lucy Ellen was born in Vancouver to Jessie and Stanley Thomson on November 9, 1922. She and Dave raised their family on Capitol Hill in Burnaby during the booming 1950’s. Their home always had ‘room for one more’ as over the years they welcomed extended family and friends to live with them. Following her husband’s death, she returned to university to pursue a degree in education, then moved to Chilliwack where she taught Grade 1 for many years. She traveled often and extensively and lived independently until her move to Kamloops in 2013. Lucy Ellen valued education, travel and independence. These passions she encouraged in her future generations. She was a long time member of the University Women’s Club, Eastern Star and the Parish of St. Thomas’ in Chilliwack.Read More & Leave Condolences »

Jean Brees 1923 — 2015

Jean Brees

Jean Brees of Kamloops passed away on April 7, 2015 at the age of 91 years.  She is survived by her loving children; Hilda (Ian) Glendinning of Warner, Alberta, Hugo (Joan) Brees of Brooks, Alberta, Willy (Marilyn) Brees of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Rita (Doug) Irvine of Kelowna, British Columbia. Jean is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great – great grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her husband George Brees in May of 2000. Jean was born in Belgium in 1923, she met George and was married in 1946. They immigrated to Canada with their three small children, Hilda, Hugo and Willy, in 1951. During that time they worked on a sugar beet farm before settling down in Lethbridge, Alberta. Their fourth child, Rita, arrived in 1955 and they enjoyed life in Lethbridge until 1987, when they retired to Kamloops. Jean enjoyed fishing, sewing, knitting, tai chi and especially spending time with her family. Mom was hardworking, fair and always saw the bright side of life. A Celebration of Jeans Life will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating. Special thanks to all the nurses and staff at 6 North, RIH. In memory of Jean, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Heather Arlene Carr 2015 — 2015

Heather Arlene Carr

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Arlene Carr of Kamloops on March 31, 2015 as the result of a tragic accident. Heather is survived by her loving husband Stephen, her two children, Braydon and Cody and partner Leesa. She is also survived by her parents James and Judy Allan and siblings Stacey (Allan), Sheri, David (Rejina). She leaves behind nieces and nephews Rylan, Paige, Tess, Britney, Hannah, Noah, MacKenzie and Karlee as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Heather was predeceased by her grandparents.  Heather was born in Kamloops and raised in Tumbler Ridge where she had both her boys-the lights of her life. She moved back to Kamloops in 1998 where she met both Stephen (married 2003) and Leesa.  She attended TRU and graduated in 2007 with a bachelor in Social Work and went onto work for the Ministry of Children and Families. In her 40 years, Heathers kind spirit and helpful nature left a mark on all she encountered. She never found a cause that she could not champion nor a fight that she would not take on. She was a large part of many communities and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at the Royal Bank of Canada to Sheri Allan 05080-003-501-575-5 towards the purchase of a park bench in her honor.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Celebration of Heather’s Life will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., with Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating.
