Bertha (Elder) Pernitsky

Nov 24, 1925 ~ June 10, 2014

Bertha passed away peacefully at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband Joe in 1973 and grandson William in 2002. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dianne (Peter), Jeanette (Frank), Bill (Patti), John, and Greg (Diane). It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Leo Gryba on Sunday June 8, 2014.He truly will be missed by his large and loving family. He spent much of his life in the forces, where he travelled the world and made many friends and met and married his wife Bobby, they remained together till her passing in 2012.

The family would like to thank the amazing people at Berwick on the park, who showed him the most wonderful compassion and care through the last few months, we are forever grateful.

We also would like to thank the people from Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice; you truly understand the importance of “the final journey”.

The world will seem a much emptier place without this kind and loving man.

It’s with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Patricia Montremaine on May 18 at the age of 52 years in Clinton, BC. She is remembered by brother John D. Jasinoski (Deborah), sister Evelyn Forsyth, and her nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by parents John and Mary Jasinoski and sister Janet.

Pat always loved animals and enjoyed caring for animals in need.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Baydak of Chase, BC, on May 22^nd, 2014 at 70 years of age. Steven is survived by his loving wife Gail Baydak, children Cori (Rob) Baydak of Coquitlam, BC, and Josephine Baydak of Vancouver, BC. Also left to cherish Steven’s memory are grandchildren Devon, Tessa and Darren, as well as great-grandchild Jadiel; brothers and sisters Jim, Gloria, Darlene, Marjorie, Paulette and Patricia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Steven is predeceased by his father Joseph, and mother Agnes.

BETTY MASUMI INOUYE of Kamloops, BC passed away on Tuesday, June 3^rd, 2014 at 79 years of age.

Survived by her loving husband Roy, daughters Lori (Bob), Adele (Bill), and Teri (Denis), grandsons Brian and Alex, and brother, Ken.  Her uncles, aunts and cousins that live in Washington State and California.  She is predeceased by her parents Dr. Masajiro and Sumiko Miyazaki and her sister Rumi.

Betty was born in Vancouver, February 19, 1935, eldest daughter to Dr. Masajiro and Sumiko Miyazaki.  During the evacuation of the Japanese Canadians from the BC Coast, she and her family moved to Bridge River and then to Lillooet where her father became the doctor to the people of Lillooet and all of the surrounding area.

After graduating high school in Lillooet, Betty moved to Vancouver in 1952 to attend U.B.C. where she met Roy Inouye and they married in the summer of 1959.  She taught for one year in Kitimat, BC before moving to Kamloops. From 1958 to 1993 she was employed in the Kamloops School District where she taught Business, Japanese Language and was a Girl’s Counsellor.  During that period, in 1968 she was appointed to the position of Vice-Principal of NorKam Secondary School.   She finished herRead More & Leave Condolences »
