In the early afternoon February 26th, 2022 we peacefully lost our Mother, Surjit Kaur Heer at the age of 96.Surjit was born on November 28, 1926 in the village of Kurgana Hoshiapur India.
Surjit came to Canada in 1980 with her loving husband Didar Singh Heer and her three sons, to reside with family in Kamloops BC. She was known as an extremely hard working wife and mother to all her family. Surjeet worked on a Berry Farms in Chilliwack/Abbotsford BC. Surjit is survived by her two sisters and two brothers. She also leaves behind her Beloved Daughters Harjinder Dhaliwal (Late Sadu Dhaliwal) Daljit Kaur Sahota ( Late Iqbal Sahota) Surjit also leaves behind four cherised sons Baldev Singh Heer (Kamaljit Kaur) Jagdesh Singh Heer (Charnjit Kaur) Parmjit Singh Heer (Rashpal Heer) Satnam Singh Heer (Rashinder Kaur Heer.) Surjit was a loving bibi & nani to all her grandchildren & several great grandchildren who will dearly miss her.Our family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Doctors, nurses & care staff at RIH, Ponderosa, and Overlander Extended Care Facilities.
Surjit’s funeral service will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Kamloops Funeral Home at 285 Fortune Drive Kamloops. Followed by a traditional Sikh service at the Sikh temple in Kamloops at 700 Cambridge Cres.
