It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Attilio Sirianni, 95 years old, of Kamloops, British Columbia.
Dad passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 24th, 1931, to Giovanni Battista and Teresa Repole in Maione, Cosenza, in the Calabria region of Italy, on their family farm Aqua I Seri, Attilio came from a large family, being the 9th sibling of 10 children. He married the love of his life, Nella, in 1952.
He immigrated to Kamloops, British Columbia, in 1956 in search of a better life for his wife, Nella, his mother, Teresa, and his two oldest children, Ferro and Teresa.
He built our family home in Kamloops with the help of his brothers, and he and Nella welcomed Mario, Gino, Maria, and Raffelina into the family.
Dad will be remembered for his devotion and love to his family. Dad loved the outdoors, particularly the family farm in Westsyde, where he would spend his days tending to his livestock and vegetable gardens. Dad loved his family, and providing for them was his life purpose; there was always a seat at the table and coffee on the stove for anyone who visited, and he regaled all visitors and family with his stories of his life in Italy, as well as his triumphs and struggles he overcame when he moved to Canada.
He spent his life working for the provincial government and was well known for his ability to create beautiful brickwork. He was a kind and loving soul with a gentle heart and spirit, and we know our mother, Nella, has greeted him with open arms in Heaven.
Attilio is survived by his 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren: Ferro (Sandy), Dion, Tyler and Deidre; Teresa (Zoltan), Natalie, Vanessa, Cailin, Kendra and Deklan; Mario (Erin) and Sasha; Gino (Lisa), Quinton and Bryce; Maria (Brent), Rachel and Reid; and Raffelina (Neil), Jared, Tyson, and Ryan.
He is predeceased by his wife, Nella, and his 9 siblings, Giovanni, Pietro, Rosario, Fedele, Marianina, Cristina, Elvira, Adelina, and Rosetta.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care that Dad received from Dr. Sven Kipp and Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre, who treated him like family when he was in their care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 14th, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, located at 635 Tranquille Rd., Kamloops, B.C. Celebrant: Fr. Thomas Arackal.
Entombment will follow at Sage Valley Mausoleum, Hillside Cemetery, located at 757 Notre Dame Drive, Kamloops, B.C.
Friends and family are welcome to attend and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Attilio to the Dementia Care Society of BC.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
