Bernard “Bernie” George Gagne 1935 — 2018

Bernard “Bernie” George Gagne

On Monday, June 4, 2018 our beloved Dad Bernie passed away peacefully, surrounded with love. Bernie was a man who believed and followed the rules of kindness, honesty, integrity and generosity. Although he considered himself a loner, Bernie attracted people with his loyalty and words of wisdom.

He touched many lives and will be missed by both friends and family.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at Royal Inland Hospital for their kindness and compassion. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Bernie’s name may be made to the Royal Inland Hospital foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers.

The Celebration of Life for Bernie will take place at 11 AM on Sunday, June 17, 2018 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Celebration Hall with Babette Degregorio officiating.

A private burial was held on Friday, June 8 at Hillside Cemetery Kamloops BC.

I did not know Bernie very well, just saw him often at Superstore for quite a few years. He was always friendly and upbeat. I do know he was a very kind man.
My deepest condolences to his family.
    God Bless you, Bernie.

So sorry to hear about Bernie’s passing. One of my fondest memories of him was every time he’d see me when I was a young boy he’d shake my hand… and not let go for what felt like 15 minutes… all the while asking why I was just standing there… even now it brings a smile to my face. Great memories!!! Thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.

I first met Bernie in 1969 when I worked with United Dominions, an Industrial Finance Company with B.C. Headquarters in Vancouver.
Bernie was a man of integrity, fun, smart, with a very good sense of humor, and a good knowledge of heavy Industrial Equipment related to construction and logging.
That level of integrity never left his way of doing busines, I am sure it followed in his personal life when he moved to the Interior of B.C.
Bernie touched so many lives, not even knowing the impact he had on individuals; I was 27 when I first met him in 1969, I still smile with pride, that he touched my life in such a positive way.
Thank you Bernie, you made my life richer.
