After an extended stay in Royal Inland Hospital, Judy passed away peacefully at the Kamloops Hospice July 29, 2026 with family by her side.Judy was born in Kamloops and raised on the family ranch at 26 Mile, just outside of Clinton. At 15 years old she left home and by 17 was happily working for BC Tel in Williams Lake, which later she took a position in Kamloops. In 1967 she married, had two kids and by 1970 the family moved to the farm in Darfield. That is where she had vegetable and flower gardens, canned and cooked homemade meals that kept family and friends well fed. As her kids got older, she worked in Clearwater at the Medical Center as a receptionist and was Leader of their local 4H club. Eventually she made her way back to Kamloops in 1993 when she bought the Little Hobo Soup and Sandwich Shop on Victoria Street. That is when she introduced the downtown to her homemade soups, stew, chili, biscuits, muffins, cakes and cookies.
She is predeceased by her mom, Mary; dad, Marvin; siblings, Howard, George, Geraldine, Dianne and Jeanette. She is survived by her sisters, Juanita and Ruby, daughter, Penny (Tony); son, Michael (Claire); grandkids, Sam, Alexandria and Charlie, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children.
A Celebration of Life to remember Judy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Kamloops Funeral Home on 285 Fortune Drive, where family and friends can share some of their stories in her memory.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the hospice for keeping her comfortable in her final days. Donations can be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Hospice in her memory.

Condolences to the families. I remember going for lunches when I worked at the down RBC branch. She was an amazing fun person and a wonderful cook.
