Phyllis Eld

Phyllis Maryon Eld, a long time resident of Kamloops, passed away peacefully July 13th at Royal Inland Hospital. Born on December 27, 1924 in Vancouver BC, Phyllis was an active member of the community and had a natural zest for life. She spent her early years as a long time employee of Woodwards, and later spent time as a volunteer with the RIH thrift store. She was also a longtime member of the moose where she enjoyed many years in the kitchen, catering events. Phyllis was always happy and radiated her passion for life. She loved to dance, laugh, smile and always took her wardrobe and accessories very seriously! She always saw the good in everyone, and was the the most caring and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend, but her true passion in life was her longtime husband and best friend Martin Eld. They spent their years caring for each other and their many children, traveling and entertaining the ones they loved. She is survived by her husband Martin, her children Kelly and Wayne, stepchildren Debbie and Michael, she also leaves behind numerous grand children, great grand children, loving relatives and friends. A casual gathering will be held Saturday, July 18th at 11am in the Kamloops Funeral Home Tea Room, 285 Fortune Dr.,  where friends and family can come together to celebrate the life of one incredible lady. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Joyce Lynn Watson (Puittinen)

Joyce Lynn Watson of Clearwater passed away on July 10, 2015 at 58 years of age. She is survived by her loving husband Larry Puittinen, children, Craig (Sumuko) of Tokyo, Japan and Christine (Jim) of Calgary, Alberta, three grandchildren, and her mother Tessie. James Allan Lott 1939 — 2015

James Allan Lott

August 11, 1939- July 13, 2015

 

James Allan Lott of Kamloops passed away on July 13th , 2015 at 75 years of age. Jim is survived by his loving wife Pamela and  children: Kathleen (Mike) Meechan of Prince George , BC, Debbie (Jay) Reynolds of Maple Ridge , BC, David (Suzie) Pearce of Langley , BC , Steven Lott Calgary , AB , Skip (Heather) Young of Vancouver, BC , Bruce (Marla) Young Slave Lake , AB  Mark (Sheri) Young and Nancy (Andrew) McPhee all of Nelson BC , as well as nine grandchildren.

He is also survived by three brothers: Richard (Dee) Lott , Doug (Melanie) Lott , Andrew (Liz ) Lott and a sister, Sharon (Sheerwood) Peers.

Jim had a love for fishing , gunsmithing and faceting. He won many trophies with his handmade rifles, winning a gold medal being 1st overall in North America for his faceted stone. One could always find Jim at the TVRC workshop every Saturday and Sunday teaching the art of creating cabachons, faceting and jewellery making. There will be a drop-in gathering at Jim’s home and a Celebration of Jim’s Life on Saturday July 25, 2015 at 2167 Community Pl. Kamloops, BC, between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 PM.

Maddalena Pozza 1933 — 2015

MADDALENA POZZA

October 6, 1933 – June 25, 2015

 

Maria Maddalena Pozza (nee Succoli) of Kamloops BC passed away on June 25th, 2015 at 81 years of age.

Maddalena is survived by her loving  husband Pietro and two daughters, Christina (Garry) Van Soest of Vernon BC and  Elena (Jason) Friesen of Kamloops BC, also grandchildren, Francesca, Katrina and Gerrit Van Soest, Justin and Thomas Friesen.

She was predeceased by her sister Clara and her brother Germano.

Born in Nagarole Italy, mom moved to Canada in 1963 to marry our father Pietro. Prior to her immigration mom had worked two years in Switzerland as a seamstress. She then moved back to her hometown in Italy, opening a restaurant and bar wither mother only to sell the business and move to Canada. Once in Canada and her children were now teenagers mom went back to work as a seamstress, doing alterations.

A special thanks to Dr. Phil Sigalet for his kindness, care and support for our mother and family over the last several years, also the staff of the Pine Grove Care Centre for their compassion and care.

A Celebration of  Maddalena’s Life will be held on Monday July 20th, 2015 at 2: 00 PM in the Kamloops Funeral home Chapel.

Gilles Gagnon 1938 — 2015

Gilles Gagnon

It is with great sadness that we announce the swift passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandpa, Gilles Gagnon.

Gilles was born in Mistassini, Quebec, on July 1, 1938, the third of twelve children. He married Therese on July 28, 1964 and together with their first born daughter they moved out West to Kamloops.
