It is with uttermost sadness that the family of Nicholas Mike Szumylo announces his passing on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the age of 23.
Nick was born and raised in Kamloops, B.C. He was a great man with a huge heart. He was passionate about music, martial arts, and sports. Nick’s kindness and sense of humour will be forever missed.
Nick will be forever remembered by his parents, Mike and Irina, his brother Ian (Darcy), his sister Christina (Josh), and nephew Parker. He will also be lovingly remembered by the rest of his family in the Ukraine.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2019 in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.

Mike , Irina and Families , I am so saddened to learn of Nick’s passing. I enjoyed my chat’s with him and will remember his big smile and how proud he was of his family. With heartfelt sympathy and big hugs to all. Rest In Peace Nick.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Nick well from his time at McGowan Park Elementary. He was a bright, and wonderful boy. He will be missed by all he came in contact with.

Irina, so incredibly sorry for you as a Mom, and for the other family members. A mother’s love is so deep, and we’re not supposed to outlive our kids. Sandra and I spent a lot of time with Nick and we both loved him. We really enjoyed his sense of humour and the pride he had for family and where they migrated from.
