It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great man Leslie Joseph André Gagnon. Les passed away on August 10, 2023 while camping with the love of his life surrounded by nature.
Les was born February 1st, 1953 in Claresholm Alberta and grew up exploring and fishing in Ontario. He moved to Kamloops with his family in 1967 and remained there as a mentor to many raising his incredible family and working a 45-year career at Knowles Exhaust
He is survived by his loving wife Lydia, his mother Arlene, his children Stacey and André, his grandchildren Emily, Carson, Riley and Avery. His siblings Ron, Mark, Carol, Peter. His special sons Mike and Steven, and many aunts and uncles, cousins, in-laws, extended family members and family like friends.
Les’ life passions were hunting, fishing, camping and watching hockey. He loved to cook and read history. Les was a very creative man who could build anything out of nothing. Les was also a generous man who would do anything for anyone and had a unique ability to find the time for and the good in everyone.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Les September 16th, 2023, at 1pm

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Leslie is my first cousin. We were born in the same year and we were very close till they moved to Alberta. My parents were Gerry and Donna Gagnon from Timmins On. I am their second child Miki, aka Michele. I’ve lived on Vancouver Island for 30 years. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in these very sad days.
So sad to hear of your loss Lydia, and family
Always a kind man with a big heart
Sending a hug .

Am very sorry to hear the passing of Les. Was a great friend that started in our mid teens, great memories. Will be miss by all there were lucky enough to know him, and will never be forgotten. Steve and Jocelyne Tymich.
I am sorry for your loss. I got to know Les while I was teaching at Brock Secondary, and he was at Knowles. He mentored many of my students through the years and taught them much more than the skills of his trade. He was always positive and never hesitated to say what was on his mind. His smile, warmth, and laughter always filled the room.
I made him that para-cord choker he is wearing in the posted picture. We met when I was still a cop long ago and we debated whether the .300 Weatherby or Winchester was better. I know we bumped into each other moose hunting up north too. Les was the most memorable and well liked business person I met on the job. Not only was he a contact, I considered him a friend. He even got his daughter to make me a sign: “If you can read this, you’re in range.” The world is an emptier place now. Rest in peace my friend. Condolences extended to Lydia and the rest of the family
