DOREEN YVONNE MARIETTA SPARKS 1935 — 2022

DOREEN YVONNE MARIETTA SPARKS

The Sparks family sadly announces the passing of their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Feb 1, 2022 after a brief illness. Doreen Yvonne Marietta (nee: Starko) Sparks was
born May 28, 1935 at Wildwood, Alberta. Predeceased by her husband, Ernest William James (Bill) Sparks
on July 23, 1997.

Survived by sons, Wade (Terri) of Okotoks AB, Colin (Paulette) of Kamloops BC, and daughter, Cathie (Darcy) Chudyk of Armstrong BC, and sister Marilyn (John) Oldman, as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are sisters-in-law, Flo Angeloff and
Joy Sparks, both of Penticton BC, and numerous relatives and friends.

Mom worked as a registered nurse and raised her family with Bill who
was in the RCMP. There were numerous moves and new adventures.
She passed away on their wedding anniversary which would have been
64 years. Together once again.

Mom was an artist who loved to paint. She also could sew, knit and crochet. All of us are blessed to have pictures and blankets to cherish her memory. We will miss her immensely and forever remember her.

There be no service at Mom’s request. Her ashes will lay to rest alongside Dad’s later this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you
make a donation to a charity of your choice.

    Wade, Colin and Cathie:

Bob and I were saddened and shocked to hear and read of Auntie Doreen’s passing. It serves as a stark reminder of how quickly time marches on.

We will always fondly remember those great times we had together as families with you all and your mom and dad out at the cabin at the lake all those years ago.

Please accept our sincere condolences and deepest sympathies at this very difficult time.

    Jim and Bob,

Thank you for your thoughts. Absolutely, time moves along and we have to move with it. Lots of lake memories for sure. Oh to be kids again, with no worries and forever ahead of us. We’ll miss our parents as I’m sure you do too. They’re all partying as they once did.. All the best to you guys.
