JoAnne Marie Vigneault (née Seems) was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick on Dec 12, 1948. She passed away on Feb 26th, 2023 in Kamloops BC. JoAnne was the last surviving child of parents Frank and Celia Seems and leaves behind two Children, Luke and Lise and one grandson, Miles.
JoAnne grew up in a large family in New Brunswick. Completing her post secondary education in Fredericton, she moved around the Maritimes and Quebec before meeting Wilf, with whom she married and had two children. In 1993 the family moved to Kamloops where she remained. Following a separation from Wilf, JoAnne met her longtime partner Garry, with whom she stayed for more than 20 years.
In life, JoAnne was athletic; excelling at tennis and always finding new ways to keep fit. She at times had a sharp wit, which she held onto until her final days. JoAnne was a voracious reader and loved crosswords and games. Almost to a fault, she always saw the best in people. She valued a good sense of humour and a love of music. She was a lovely woman who was admired by friends and family.
There will be no service for JoAnne. The family asks that donations be made to an Alzheimer’s organization of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family from

I want to thank Joanne for being such a good friend. We spent many hours together talking about books, politics and the love she had for her family, most especially Luke and Lise. Joanne and I would dance together whenever possible (so much fun!). Her wry sense of humour was infamous: her smile infectious. I will miss her with all my heart; I wish her to travel safely on this new journey. She once asked me to remember her and I will. A very special lady.
Rest in peace Auntie Joanne. We shared many good times and the odd tough times also. You will be with your entire family now so you will find happiness and peace. XoxoCaro Ann
Beautiful tribute to JoAnne..captured her quirky sense of
humour, desire to stay healthy, and sometimes childlike trust and innocence..I knew JoAnne from her days in Halifax, young and fun, marriage to Wilf and as a young mother to Luke and Lise…continued contact after her move and up
to the first days in care..Consider her a close friend from so far away..
Sincere condolences to Lise and Luke
Love to you and Miles..xoxo
Condolences to Lise and Luke-
Yes she was special! Very bright and really funny.
Condolences to Lise, Luke and Miles. I vividly remember JoAnne at her piano in the living room on Cameron Street. The pieces she tackled were impressive and her determination to render them was even more so. Although I did not know very well, we did have a few interesting telephone conversations. Her determination to live life her way was impressive.May she now rest in peace.
Awweee No, I send my condolences to the family and Gary, I never met you all but worked with Joanne and boy was she a ball of fun, witty and funny and liked by everyone. She loved Gary dearly in all they did together. I recall music was their love as well. My thoughts are with you all
My Deepest Sympathy to to Luke, Lise, Miles and Gary. Was upset when I heard of Joanne’s passing. I knew Joanne through a group we belonged to and we were neighbors at one time. Joanne always had a smile on her face and was a lovely woman. Heaven has welcomed a bright and beautiful spirt. May the memories you shared comfort you at this sad time.
So sorry for the family’s loss. I was a neighbour of JoAnnes on The Shore. Such a sweet, funny, friendly and endearing lady. She will be missed.
