Our mom, Maryanne Embree nee Tarves passed away August 22, 2023 at Kamloops Seniors Village.
Mom was 89 years old, born August 12, 1934 and the youngest of 7 siblings. Mom married dad March 28th 1959. They resided in Calgary shortly after they were married. They then moved to Vancouver Island and lived in Courtney/Comox and Campbell River. They moved their little family of 5 in 1969 to the mainland, Ladner, B.C. where they continued to raise their children.
In 1994 mom and dad moved to Salmon Arm for a quieter, slower pace of life. Mom’s health started to decline December 2020 and with gracious acceptance, her and dad made the move to assisted living at Kamloops Seniors Village.
Mom often talked with enormous thankfulness the day Truth came to her mom in 1921. Mom made the choice to serve God when she was 18 and stayed true to that commitment rest of her life.
Mom was predeceased by her grandson Dalton in 1997.
She leaves to mourn her passing, husband Hector, daughter Janet and Bill, son Kenton, Shirley, daughter Laura and Ken, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, special nephew Ralph Eckford and many other nephew and nieces.
We would like to thank the staff at Kamloops Seniors Village and Dr. Wynne who lovingly cared for mom and our friends who visited.
There will be a Funeral Service, Thursday August 31, 2023 at 11:00am in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive. For those who cannot attend, you may join virtually at this link: https://ipcamlive.com/5f98c1fdc1e47 Please email: kfhome@shawbiz.ca or call us at 250-554-2577 for the PIN.

My memories of Marianne reach back over many years to 1956 when she and her sister Ruth were managing a large chicken farm and the Quists were also a part of that big responsibility when they first came from the Netherlands. It has been nice to occasionally have glimpses of her and Hector and family in the passing years.
Joy and sorrow interwoven. You will miss her but she’s home. Many memories from White Rock days
