RANJIT SINGH BAINES 1936 — 2024

RANJIT SINGH BAINES

Ranjit Singh Baines, known affectionately as Randy, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on June 23rd, 2024, in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Randy’s passionate spirit is carried on by his wife, Chinnama (Gina); their two sons, Anil (Janice) and Ajay (Harjoyt) and grand children Mila, Alea and Loic.

Randy immigrated to Canada from India in 1959 and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Randy has built many connections in Kamloops having lived there for 55 years. He lived a very full and accomplished life and will be remembered for his giving and hard working nature.

He loved competing in track and field and weightlifting growing up, and continued to demonstrate that passion in his life and job, with his incredible endurance and work ethic. He was relentless – second to none.

He loved watching his sons play sports. He was Ajay’s number one hockey fan.

He was always the first one up in the morning ready for what the day would bring. Enthusiastic, fiery and always ready – he never backed down from any challenge that the world presented to him. He believed that anything was possible in life.

“Though we mourn our loss, we honor the amazing life you lived”.

To honor Randy’s memory, a service will be held at the Kamloops Alliance Church on Saturday, July 6th at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association.

Beloved family who mourns the loss of our dear Ranjith uncle,we share your grief and hold Chinnamama and kids in prayers as you go through this difficult time. May our God of strength and comfort be by your side.
We hold fond memories of visiting Ranjith uncle and him hosting us at his home in Kamloops the grand way that only he can. He and Chinnamama took time out to visit Leticia at Washington and spend quality time with Luca and them. He was very loving and playful with little Luca. It was a blessing for their family to have them there. Our last encounter with his cheerful self was at Lawsons wedding in India where they traveled all the way from Canada and graced the occasion with their blessings and presence.
He will truly be missed and we pray that we keep him alive in all the fond memories we have of him.
Our heartfelt condolences and prayers for our dear family.
