ARUN PRAKASH SHANKAR 1960 — 2026

ARUN PRAKASH SHANKAR

The Shankar family wishes to express their deep gratitude for your love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Thank you for being part of Arun’s journey.

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti ॐ

On February 26th, 2026, Arun Prakash Shankar passed away in Kamloops, BC, at the age of 65. He is survived by his devoted wife, Yasmin, and his five children: Ashton, Ashana, Alma (Jordan), Shasha (Jake), and Brandan. He also leaves behind his siblings: Simon (Pauline), Karun (Glen), Kamlesh (Santu), Mala (late Shardesh), Kiran, and Kyant (Amit).

Born in Vunidawa, Fiji, on August 10th, 1960, to the late Ram Shankar and late Krishna Kumari, Arun moved to Canada at 23. He was driven by a simple, selfless goal: to build a brighter future for his children. A tireless worker, Arun spent years as a plumber before transitioning to life behind the wheel as a taxi driver.

Outside of work, he was happiest in his garden, finding joy in sharing his harvest with those he loved. Above all, Arun lived for his children, never missing an opportunity to tell them just how much they were adored.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive.
