It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey Karpoff announce her sudden passing on Friday, July 21, 2017 with her family by her side. Audrey showed courage and determination in her short battle with cancer, and continued to be concerned about the wellbeing of those around her to her last day.
In her 10 years in Kamloops, Audrey made numerous friends in every corner of the City; from the Kamloops Newcomers group, her weekly Mahjong games, visits to the Opera, several book clubs, attending the gym and determination to join the therapy dog program (despite being afraid of dogs).
She kept in regular contact with friends from her previous homes in White Rock, Ste. Adele, Senneville, Toronto, Vancouver and Abbotsford; always ready for a road-trip to visit or have a delicious meal together.
She is survived by her loving husband Boris, her daughters Alexandra (Daryl) Armstrong of Kamloops, Nadia (Colin) Chapin of Toronto, Hélène (Peter) Brown of Fiji; her grand-children Gabrielle, Dimitri, Colton, Mackenzie, Jacqueline and Karine, her siblings Sylvia, Eleanor, Dolores, Gerald, Joseph and Delilah, and all of their children.
Predeceased by her parents Helen and Joseph Gyuricska, sister Genny and brother Bob.
A Celebration of Audrey’s life will take place at 3pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1-3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Kamloops Arts Council or the BC Cancer Agency is appreciated by the family.

Boris – To you and your family, my sincere condolences on Audrey’s passing. I remember our time as near neighbours in north Toronto and Audrey’s involvement in WAMIC events before you moved to Montreal. As we all grow older, may the good memories sustain you.
It is deep sorrow that we read in this morning’s Globe and Mail about Audrey’s passing. We did meet a few times during some of RPA Christmas Dinners in the past 15 to 20 years and remember her as a jovial person. Our condolences to Boris and Alexandra and the extended family.
Dear Boris and family,
We are so saddened to hear of Audrey’s passing. There are many memories that will stay with us: her warm and generous personality, many happy hours spent together, so many dinner parties……laughter and good times always…..forever in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Boris and family,
We are so saddened by the passing of a warm and jovial person whose friendship and company we always enjoyed over the years.
We will never forget the very special moments we shared together…our connections, Quebec City, our Hungarian heritage and of course the abundant neighbourliness on Deloraine Ave in North Toronto.
Our deepest sympathy to all.

I was saddened to learn today of the passing of Audrey Karphoff. I remember her so well as a wonderful employee at Queen of Angels Academy in Dorval, Quebec. I knew Audrey in my capacity as Assistant Principal at Queen of Angels. One of my fondest memories is the gathering that Audrey held in her home for the secretarial staff and the administrators one year, just before Christmas. She was such an elegant host and a caring person. I also remember her great kindness when she forwarded flowers to my home on the occasion of the passing of one of my family members. It was accompanied by a very kind, personal note. To Boris and all close family members, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Audrey was a wonderful woman. I met her during Alex’s years at Queen of Angels Academy. She graciously accepted a post at the School and was a gift to the School and to me as she became a fast friend Audrey was “class” personified whether at a Board meeting or over lunch in St. Adele. She was generous, caring and loving to a fault. My sons and I have such wonderful memories of our times when the house is St. Adele was given over to us. May she rest in peace and may Boris and Alex know that they are in my thoughts and prayers.
C’est avec regret que, par hasard, j’apprends le décès d’Audrey. Je me rappelle d’une femme merveilleuse et très accueillante.
