It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Beau Wargovcsik at the young age of 23 years. Beau was born on February 5, 2002 and died peacefully on May 1, 2025 at Royal Inland Hospital due to complications of a seizure. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Brian and Debbie, his grandmother Grace Bartlett, many cousins, friends, and extended family.
In his younger years Beau excelled at many sports. He loved the water and quickly progressed through all the levels of swimming lessons. He then moved on to soccer and enjoyed playing games around Kamloops for various youth soccer teams. Beau then moved onto playing hockey for the Adapted Blazers team as a natural defenceman. During a Christmas holiday at Sun Peaks, Beau took ski lessons. He then later started skiing with the Adaptive Ski Program and soon became a fearless downhill skier. He also enjoyed, music, power lifting, baseball, basketball, shotput, horseback riding, and kayaking.
Beau had a wonderful creative side that lead him to drawing, pottery, and painting at 4CATS Art Studio. He also enjoyed wood carving with the Lii Michif Otipemisiwak. Beau was very proud of his Metis heritage. His Metis pride led him to jigging, language lessons, and he volunteered with the Metis Youth Council to help develop youth activities. Beau participated in many People in Motion activities such as cooking, baking, and weekly Friday morning crib games. He attended the Life Skills Programme at TRU for 2 years.
Beau’s family would like to thank to the staff at the Royal Inland Hospital ICU for the care and compassion they gave to Beau and to the family during this difficult time. Beau chose to be an organ donor to help the lives of others. If appropriate we would encourage others to do the same.
Beau’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops B.C. , at 1 pm on Saturday May 24th , 2025 . In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations in Beau’s name to People In Motion (peopleinmotion.org) or the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation (rihfoundation.ca).
