BRIAN “BUTCH” WAYNE 1944 — 2025

BRIAN “BUTCH” WAYNE

April 21, 1944 – March 20, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Brian “Butch” Wayne on March 20, 2025.

Butch is survived by his beloved wife Linda Wayne, her children Karen and Jay Winters, his sister Marguerite “Wiggy” Dougan and many cherished nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and neighbours.

Born and raised in Kamloops, B.C., Butch worked for many years as a pressman with the Kamloops Sentinel and later the Kamloops Daily News. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication and craftsmanship.

A proud Freemason and active member of the Gizeh Shriners for 46 years, Butch found joy in giving back to his community. He spent many years riding in the Gizeh Shrine Kami Corps, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went.

Butch had an incredible sense of humor and a true gift for making people laugh. Many fond memories were made over beers at the Fox N’ Hounds pub, where he enjoyed good company and conversation.

As per his wishes, there will be no formal service. Butch requested that his ashes be spread on Greenstone Mountain—a place close to his heart where he spent many cherished days hunting and fishing with his father, brothers, and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
