March 6, 1932 – December 14, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caterina Di Mambro at the age of 92, on December 14, 2024. Born in Vallemaio, Italy, on March 6, 1932, Caterina immigrated to Canada as a young woman, where she went on to build a life filled with love, warmth, and devotion to her family and community.
Caterina was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Lambert (Richard); her son, Nicolino Di Mambro (Pam); and her cherished grandchildren: Devan Lambert (Lisa), Lauren Di Mambro, Rachel Di Mambro, and Cole Di Mambro. Caterina is also survived by her loving sisters, Letizia Goode (John), Natalina Hickman (David), and Maria Grazia Calosero, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom held her in the highest regard.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francesco Di Mambro, whom she shared a deep and enduring love with throughout their marriage. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Caterina was known for her kind heart, her boundless generosity, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She had a natural ability to make everyone around her feel welcome and loved. Whether through her cooking, her bright smile, or her thoughtful words, Caterina’s presence was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew her.
A memorial service was held in honour of her life and legacy on December 23, 2024 with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Caterina’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She was truly a treasure, and her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come.
