Iris Joan Mostyk, aged 82, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025. She was born on May 10, 1943, in Elfros, Saskatchewan.

Iris was the youngest of eleven children. She was predeceased by her siblings Judy, Esther, Marion, Elvin, Bob, Beverly, and Norma, and is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings Margaret, Sharon, and Marvin.

She grew up in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, where she met the love of her life, Peter John Mostyk. They were married on March 17, 1962, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned decades.

In 1968, Iris and Peter moved to Kamloops, British Columbia, where she resided for the next 55 years and built a life centered on family, home, and love.

Together, Iris and Peter raised four children: Allen (Louise), Tony (Sherry), Debra (Terry Piwek), and Jeff. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Bryce Piwek, Tevin Piwek, Jordan (Kim) Mostyk, Blake Mostyk, Taya (Josh) Bromley, Mason (Dani) Konopacki, and Brooklyn Poeschek. Iris was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Olivia, Brynlee, Adeline, Rori, Daxson, and Everley.

Iris’s home and family were truly her life. She found great joy in cooking homemade meals and baking for those she loved. She could often be found enjoying a cold beer while passionately cheering on her favorite teams—the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, and the BC Lions.

Never one to leave the house without a touch of sparkle, Iris always wore jewelry, especially her beloved brooches. Country western music was the soundtrack of her daily life, playing softly as she went about her routines. Above all, her greatest passion and lifelong love was Elvis Presley.

Iris will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
