Jeanne Suttis passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops B.C. at the age of 92. She was born raised in California before arriving in British Columbia in 1972. She was predeceased by first husband, Ray Duarte, second husband George Suttis in May 2012, parents Blanche and Eugene Foster and sister, Eileen Bogert. She will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Elaine (Roger) Torres and Butch (Charlene) Duarte of California, Kathy (Don) Vallerga and Tammy (Gerald Koehler) Duarte of Williams Lake, B.C., and Janeen (Barry) Godin of Kamloops and nine grandchildren. Surviving grandchildren are Wendy Torres, David and John Duarte of California and Staci and Michael Duarte of Washington. Residing in B.C. are grandchildren Jason (Kathy) and Josh (Lisa) Vallerga of Williams Lake, Ashley Godin of Alberta, and Hayley Godin of Kamloops. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was employed as a teacher both in Lodi, California and in School District #27 in Williams Lake and surrounding areas before her retirement in 1987.
Thanks to the Riverbend Seniors Community in Kamloops where she spent many happy hours volunteering and enjoying activities while living in this retirement home.
No formal service at her request but donations to the Williams Lake branch of the SPCA in her memory will be gratefully accepted as the welfare of animals was one of her greatest concerns.
