It is with deep sadness that I inform our friends and family of the sudden passing of Kenneth (Ken) Churchwell on January 15, 2023. Kenneth spent the majority of his working life employed at B.C. Corrections, KRCC, and Rayleigh Camp. After retiring, he met his good friend, Al Tellier, who taught him to play the guitar. They were called “The Alkenolics.” Al passed away a year ago and that was very hard on Ken. I affirm they are playing guitars and singing together right now. Ken leaves to mourn his wife, Carol, his sister Kathy in Edmonton and his two brothers, Keith and Garnet of Saskatoon, as well as his nieces and nephews . Ken, you’d better be there to meet me when it’s my turn. I love you.

I’m so sad to hear of Ken’s passing. I knew him through Al and the Alkenolics. Ken was always kind and welcoming every time I saw him. He will be missed by all who knew him. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.
