October 21, 1931 – February 7, 2025
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Martha (Marty) Elizabeth Myers of Kamloops, British Columbia on February 7th, 2025 at 93 years of age.
She is survived by her children, Russell Myers of Kamloops, Celina (Kevin) Batdorf of Kamloops, her beloved grandchildren, Mike Myers, Mitch (Catey) Myers and Shannell Myers. Her sister Ingrid Whalley, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Marty was predeceased by her parents Paul & Elizabeth Johnson, husband Al Myers and brothers Robert and Eric Johnson.
Marty was always a beautiful example as a wife, mother and grandmother. She worked hard to support her family, especially after suffering the loss of the love of her life, Al in 1984. She was a “truly wise woman who built up her house.” (Prov. 14:1)
Marty’s strong love for Jehovah and her faith in his promises are what guided her life. She acted in harmony with her beliefs by doing volunteer work as a fulltime evangelizer and actively shared Bible truths with others about Jehovah and his promise of a future when “death will be no more.” (Rev. 21:4) Her friends and congregation brought her great joy and occupied her thoughts often.
Marty will be deeply missed by her family, friends and congregation. We can all be comforted by knowing that she is sleeping until the day when she will be reunited with family and friends in the near future as promised. (John 5:28,29)
A special thank you to the staff at Pine Grove and Ridgeview Lodge for their heartfelt care.
A Memorial Service for Marty will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 270 Leigh Road, Kamloops. If you wish to attend online, please email batdorf2004@yahoo.com to request the Zoom link and password.

Marty was always game for a good laugh. Many interesting happenings on the plane from the DR and happy times in Punjabi. I will thank her again in the new world for her Rice Krispie squares, so many marshmallows and so delicious. Hope I can have some there too. Looking forward to wonderful times with you again Marty.
Mrs. “Marty” Myers sparkled with acceptance and joy. Even though we shared different religions, she made me feel safe to talk about the sameness and differences of these. She showed concern for her children and others in a loving way.
we will miss Marty, she always saw the good in people and the possibilities. She had common sense and never gave up on anyone. She will be so happy to see that her example taught us more than words can say when we all see her again in the new world to come.
