It is with sad yet consoled hearts that we announce the passing of our much loved wife/Mom/Nanny…Mary Margaret “Margie” MacLeod (McCormick) at 8:30 pm in Kamloops BC at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice on February 14, 2016.  Mom died peacefully, holding Dad’s hand, of natural causes.

Mom was born in her family home in Grand Mira on May 27, 1932 to May and Dan McCormick.  She married Dad (Old Guy), Thomas Earle MacLeod, on May 1, 1954 in Sydney NS.  Together they had five children, Blaise, Susan, Linda, Blair and Brent.  In 1969 the family moved to Kamloops, B.C. where Mom was kept very busy raising her family and doing as much as she possibly could, helping out in her church and her community for many years.

Mom’s spirit will live on through her family and friends. Her faith and strength will continue to be an inspiration to us all.

Prayers will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on the following day, Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the Parish Centre. Inurnment of Mom’s ashes will occur at a later date.

Many thanks to all of the staff and volunteers at Royal Inland Hospital and at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice, you are all amazing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to any Hospice Society.
