It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Gordon Leo Sperling, who left us at the age of 62.
Gordon was reunited in eternal peace with his father Leo, mother Veronica, sisters Michelle and Sheila, nephew Travis, and the love of his life, Wanda Meade. He also joins many other cherished family members and friends who preceded him.
Born on July 12, 1961, in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, Gordon was the eldest of seven siblings. As a child, he moved to British Columbia with his family, where he spent the majority of his formative years. Gordon ventured into the world, seeking both work and adventure, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
A true lover of the outdoors, Gordon’s passions included cars, motorbiking, and exploring new destinations. He had a penchant for driving trucks and enjoyed tinkering with cars. Gordon spent several years as a cab driver, a profession that led him to meet the love of his life, Wanda Meade. Together, they embarked on the journey of raising three beloved children, Chris, Tim, and Desiree, who meant the world to both of them. Gordon also had a deep affection for music, adding melody and rhythm to his vibrant life.
Gordon will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his loving family and friends, including his brother Joe, sister Tammy (Brock) Allaire, sister Belinda (Joe), sister Leona (Martin), and a host of nieces and nephews: Austin (Hayley & Hunter), Carington (Kieran), Kyle, Tyler (Trista), Izabella, Brayden. He also leaves behind his cherished children, Chris, Tim, and Des, along with many adored grandchildren too numerous to mention. Gordon will be fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, and other extended family members. Special mention goes to his best friend, Russ Laughy, and Sandra O’Neill.
Gordon’s legacy is one of kindness, compassion, a fun-loving spirit, and a heart of gold. His infectious humor and warm personality will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him. In our hearts always and forever, Gord.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Gordon’s life will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Rd. The Celebration of Life will be followed by a tea in the Parish Centre. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
