
Shirley was born in Canora, Saskatchewan to loving parents Fred and Milly Baumumg.
Shirley graduated from Yorkton Collegiate Institute in 1948, at a young age of 16. She attended teachers college briefly in Regina then moved to Kamsack to work as a telephone operator, where she was introduced to her future husband Chuck by his sister and coworker Doreen. Chuck and Shirley were married on Sept. 26th 1950. Two beautiful children came soon after, son Warren Bradley Brown and Carla Kim Brown. The family moved to Melville and then on to Regina so that Shirley could continue her education to become a teacher. Shirley taught high school in Melville and in Saskatoon transferring to Kelsey Institute to teach adult education in 1968. Shirley taught at Kelsey for many years leaving her Administrative position when they moved to Kamloops in 1978. Shirley continued her career working as a department head at the Cariboo College where she retired in 1987.
After retirement Chuck and Shirley spent winters traveling down to Mexico . They fell in love with Cabos San Lucas where for the next 30 years they spent their winters, returning to Kamloops to their wonderful home and yard for the summers. Shirley was a gracious host, marvelous cook and homemaker. She embraced technology and used this means to keep in daily contact with her many friends and loving family. Shirley was a continual learner and kept up with current issues. She always provided stimulating conversation and relevant view points regarding any topic her Grandchildren, Children and Friends brought up. Jerald Hemstock passed away at Ridgeview Lodge in Kamloops, BC on April 16, 2017 at 84 years of age. He is survived by his sister Vida Kirkness and children Joel (Rie) Hemstock, Chris (Tracy Shymko) Hemstock and Melissa (Rob Tonnesen) Hemstock.
Jerald was predeceased by parents Walter and Catherine Hemstock and brothers Jim Hemstock, Jack Hemstock and Joe Hemstock. Jerald was recently widowed, losing Irma Hemstock in December of 2016. He was also predeceased by daughter Megan Hemstock in 1981.
He was appointed as a Royal Canadian Naval Cadet in 1952 and was awarded his wings in 1955. This led to a memorable career as a bush pilot servicing remote oil wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan.Read More & Leave Condolences »

Sharron Olsen of Kamloops, BC passed away on April 17, 2017 at 65 years of age.
Sharron is survived by her loving husband Ray Olsen, children Grant (Tiffany) Olsen and Lori (Shauna Campsall) Olsen, brothers Bill Larrett, Dave Larrett and sister Linda Larrett, relatives Jeff Scott, Marc Scott, Stacy Mercier, Jody Larrett and Janice Rettie.

Mona Grace Piazza passed peacefully into the presence of her Saviour, Jesus, surrounded by family on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the age of 85. She leaves behind Bert, her husband of 65 years.
Mona was born on July 8, 1931 in Atwater, Saskatchewan to Axel and Margaret Ulveland. She was born at home, eight weeks premature. The priest was called to baptize her because she was not expected to live. But Mona did not give up easily—her feisty resilience pulled her through just as it continued to do throughout her life.
Mona grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and Salmon Arm, British Columbia before moving to Kamloops with her
family. It was in Kamloops where she met and married her love, Bert, on June 16, 1951. Over the next twenty four years, she poured her life into raising their seven children as a stay-at-home Mom. Keith Hanna passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in the Royal Inland Hospital on February 6, 2017, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Keith is predeceased by his beloved wife Frances, parents Sadie and Bill, brothers Trevor, in infancy, Glen (Rose) and sister-in-law Judy (Horst) Holwein. He leaves behind his son Bruce, daughter-in-law Lisa Dyer, and many close friends.
Keith was born in Kamloops in 1938 and grew up at the Lone Pine Farm in Westsyde. In 1965, he married the love of his life, Frances Russill, who swept him off his feet with her quick wit and beautiful smile. Keith was an accomplished builder and developer, a visionary who loved to create. In 1975, the family moved to Blackpool where he and Frances set up an operated the Thompson Crossing (Keekwille Village) manufactured home park. Over the years, Keith and Frances were very active in the community, including participation in the Lion’s Club. During this period, Keith oversaw the construction of many community facilities in the Clearwater area, including the Blackpool Fire hall and the Clearwater Medical Centre. Quality craftsmanship was of the utmost importance to Keith, always ensuring that his projects were built to the highest of standards, Keith and Frances created the partnership ITEC Enterprises, a combination of two letters from each of their names, under which they continued to undertake various initiatives in Clearwater and Barriere.Read More & Leave Condolences »
