Leonard Brian Vincent Hemming

Following a lengthy illness Leonard Brian Vincent Hemming passed peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Cherished by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many dear friends. Leonard was a pillar of the community who selflessly gave of his time and wisdom to anyone who needed him.

Paul David Toporowski 1962 — 2017

Paul David Toporowski

Toporowski, Paul David, 55 of Kamloops, British Columbia passed away from pancreatic cancer on March 23rd, 2017 at Kamloops Hospice surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Melanie and their four sons: Tyler (Laura), Shane, Christopher and Riley. He was predeceased by his father Carl Alexander and father in-law Gilbert Fraser. He will be greatly missed by his mother Stephanie, his brothers: John (Nicole), Steve (Yvonne), Michael and Tom, and sisters: Carla (Ron), Leanna (Gary- deceased) and Annalise.  He is also survived by his Mother in-law, Agnes and eight in-laws: Gail, Carver, Terry, Tim, George, Nathalie, Darren, and Elston. His 79 nieces and nephews, and many dear friends and past clients shall fondly remember him.

Paul was affectionately known as “TOPPER” to everyone he met. Paul was born in Fort St. John on January 16th, 1962 and soon moved to Vernon and then Richmond in 1967. He attended James Gilmore Elementary School followed by Vancouver College High School where he excelled at academics, athletics, and leadership. Paul was honored to be chosen as Captain of the Fighting Irish Basketball and Track and Field teams and graduated as Class President in 1980. KEVIN JAMES CARSON, OF Kamloops, BC passed away suddenly on March 16th, 2017 at the young age of 26. Survived by his loving parents Stan Carson and Michelle Jacques, brother Roland (Katie), step-sister Ashley Carson, and Grandfather Archie Carson, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kevin attended Westmount Elementary School and Westsyde Secondary. He worked as a painter, bricklayer, landscaper, and labourer on pipeline establishments in northern British Columbia.  Kevin loved animals and his dog Monashee, and enjoyed fishing and riding his dirt bike and working outdoors.Read More & Leave Condolences »

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of James Randall Simpson at the age of 35 years. James was born June 17, 1981 and met his unfortunate and untimely demise on March 14, 2017 in Kamloops B.C.

James is survived by his seven year old son Cullen Davies, Mother Cheryl Simpson, Sister Rhonda Simpson, Niece Letetia Simpson, Great-nephew Alhija Randall, Aunts and Uncles Larry and Linda Simpson, Tim and Michelle Simpson, Graham Simpson, Rose Simpson, Loretta Westerager and Clay Allen. He was predeceased by his father Randall Shelley.

James loved spending time with his family and friends. His passions were working on vehicles, riding his bike around town, hiking, camping, and most of all spending time and taking care of his friends and family without hesitation. His big blue eyes and smile could light up any room he entered. His giant heart made it easy to tell what kind of man he was. Richard Allen Wagamese

Richard Allen Wagamese of Kamloops, BC, passed away on March 10, 2017 at 61 years of age.

Richard is survived by his loving life partner Yvette, his sons Jason (Jeneen) and Joshua, his 10 grandchildren Dustyn, Jordan, Dee, Zoey, Koda, Chase, Erik, Montana, Torrie and Wyatt, his brother Charles (Lori) and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and legions of readers.

Richard is predeceased by his father Stanley, mother Marjorie, brother Jack, sister Jane, niece Jackie, as well as his spiritual father Jack Kakakaway.

Richard was an Ojibway from the Wabaseemoong First Nation in northwestern Ontario. Richard’s traditional clan was the Sturgeon clan and his name was Buffalo Cloud. He was an inspiring storyteller, an award-winning writer, an accomplished broadcaster, reporter, and journalist.
