Winnifred (Wyn) Anne Elizabeth Baker-Haugen (nee Veach), 82, of Kamloops, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Kamloops Seniors Village.
Wyn was born on March 7, 1932 in Kamloops, B.C. to Hugh Dearen and Margaret Anne Veach, and was sister to her younger brother, Robert Hugh. She graduated from Kamloops Secondary School in 1949 after skipping two grades. Wyn earned a Certificate of Business Administration from the University College of the Cariboo when she was 59, in her life-long quest for learning.
In 1954 Wyn married Howard Baker with whom she had four children in Kamloops. In 1986 she married her partner for the rest of her life, Leslie Nelson Haugen.Read More & Leave Condolences »

Joyce, or ‘Joycie’, as she was known to more than a few, packed a lot of living into 64 short years. Born in Saskatchewan to loving parents John and Tina Storzuk, Joyce grew up in Wynyard in a little blue house beside her childhood best friend, Kathy. She was the youngest of four and the only girl and John was fond of spoiling his daughter. She told tales of being the first kid to get a bike with hand brakes which she showed off until she crashed on the only hill in town. In 1967, Joyce met Orest, the love of her life, and they married in July of 1969 and moved to Kitimat like her three brothers before, Ray, Merv and Bernie, (the boys). Dana Marie Ranger passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9th, 2014.
Born in Kamloops, Dana worked in construction and pipelining in northern BC. In her free time, Dana enjoyed being outdoors whether she was swimming, fishing, snowboarding, camping, or shooting. Hilda Kendall (nee Bepple)
On September 9, 2014 Hilda passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mom was born in Alexanderfeld, Romania to George and Katharina Bepple on April 16, 1925. She immigrated with her family to Canada when she was three. In 1949 she married her first husband Larry and together they had eight children. Together with him they opened the Brown Owl Bakery and the Sharon Café.
Mom worked throughout the years at different restaurants around town. She attended Cariboo College and received her certificate from the Culinary Arts program. She then worked for the Overlander Care Home until her retirement. Mom’s cooking and baking were well known throughout her career and her children benefitted from the wonderful meals she provided, some ending with one of her pies, which we all loved. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Darlene Williams. She passed away in her home in Kamloops B.C on Sunday, August 31st. She was born on November 9th, 1955 in Whitehorse, Yukon. Darlene lived her life for her family and enjoyed being a part of their lives. Her strength will carry on in her children and grandchildren.
Darlene was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Elizabeth (Williams), Sister Debra (Olsen), Sister Jackie (Plante) and nephew Adam (Williams). Survived by Daughters Tracy and Jeni-lyn, Son Terry and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of Darlene’s life with be held at the Prince George Friendship Center Saturday September 13, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Cremation had taken place at an earlier date.
