It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Hellenius of Kamloops, BC, on April 3rd, 2014. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Hamlets at Westsyde for their compassionate and outstanding care.

A Service of Remembrance for Kathleen will be held at a later date.

Heather Lee Roy 1956 — 2014

Heather Lee Roy unexpectedly passed away at her home in Kamloops, B.C. Heather, in her 58th year, is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Barry and John Hamilton; her sister, Betty Cunningham; her Stepmom, Isabel Hamilton; and her nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved kitties, Riley and Addie.  She was pre-deceased by and is now re-united with her parents, Dr. Robert and Mildred Hamilton. Heather will be sadly missed by her many friends from Kamloops, California, and Georgetown, Ontario.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops 250-554-2577 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014. In memory, contributions to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated or to the Kamloops SPCA which was a charity dear to her heart.

Eunice Frances Wourms 1932 — 2014

Eunice Frances Wourms

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eunice Frances Wourms on March 22, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Eunice belonged to a family of eleven children, being the fourth child and the oldest girl.

She was married to Daniel Matthew Wourms on October 4th, 1950, and their first boys were born in Saskatchewan before moving the family to Chilliwack, BC, in 1954. There they had two girls and four boys, before moving to Kamloops in 1961, where they had their last two boys.

Eunice was pre-deceased by her husband Daniel, oldest son Garry, her parents, brothers Walter and Lorne and numerous in-laws. She is survived by Garry’s wife, Jacquie, Gordon & Dianne, Debborah & Merle (McNeice), Victoria & Michael (Brown), Daniel Jr. & Dale, Andrew & Jayne, Timothy & Barb, Kelly & Kathy, Joseph & Marianne and Richard & Jeanine, 41 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 8 siblings and too numerous to mention extended family.

Mom was a devout catholic and full member of the CWL & Kacets.

She loved music, playing the accordion and guitar, and belonged to many choirs over the years, but was most proud of being a member in the local German Choir.

She was an expert seamstress and crafter, making many beautiful quilts and crochet angles as gifts over the years. Her pastimes were foremost, spending time with her family, then travelling, gambling and golfing with friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at 3 West in the Hospital for their compassionate care.

Prayers will be recited at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish on Saturday, March 29th, 2014 at 7:00pm. Reverend Father Peter Hoan Nguyen officiating.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish on Saturday, April 26th, 2014 at 11.00 am with Reverend Father Peter Hoan Nguyen officiating.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Joan Madill of Kamloops, BC, on February 16th, 2014 at 79 years of age.

A Graveside Service for Joan will take place on Thursday, March 13th, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Hillside Cemetery, with Chaplain Mary Widmer officiating. All those who knew Joan are encouraged to come.

Jean Elsie Gott 1924 — 2014

March 2, 1924 – February 28, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Elsie Gott (formerly, Jean Slater, nee Turner) mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

“Jeanie” is predeceased by her husbands, John and Roderick; brothers George, Howard, Allan, Ron and Bill; sisters Isabel and Catherine; son, James and grandson, Paul.  Jean is survived by her sister, Marilyn and children, Cathy Liz Slater (Johnny), Jock (Janet) Slater, Cathy Lynne (Alex) Burton,  Randy (Pam) Gott, Debby Gott, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Jean spent the first 9 years of her life in Lashburn, Saskatchewan. When the family farm was lost during the depression the family relocated to Vancouver where they lived in a house on Royal Oak Ave in Burnaby.  Always outgoing, Jean won a speech and picture girl contest in grade 11 and for a time was lead singer in a swing band with her brother, Allan who played saxophone and clarinet.  After graduating from BurnabyCentralHigh School, Jean worked briefly as a receptionist before marrying her first husband, John Slater, a civil engineer in 1947.  Read More & Leave Condolences »
