Heaven gained a faithful, old Scot named Alexander Winston Forbes when he graduated to heaven on May 14th, 2021. Anyone who knew Alec knows how much he was looking forward to seeing His Saviour and peppering Paul with questions about Romans. We know he’s joined the ranks of singing saints, and look forward to joining with him in song each Sunday morning.
He’s gone ahead of his beloved wife of 56 years, Carol. He leaves behind a sister, Betty (Don), and a brother, Harvey, as well as two kids: John (Tonia), and Juanita (Carey). He was Grandpa to four grandkids that he loved to bits: Adina, Brodie, Alexander, and Kristopher.Read More & Leave Condolences »
Calvin Richard Harbidge was born March 29th, 1954 in Matsqui BC.and passed away June 28, 2021. He moved to Tranquille Valley when he was only a baby. As a youngster he helped out on the family ranch and attended school, where he was taught by his mother Doreen. Over the years, Calvin worked as a carpenter on many construction projects on Vancouver Island with his dad Cecil and also local projects throughout Kamloops. He loved to paint, garden, and was an avid fisherman. Cal loved spending time in nature, but the thing he loved most was spending time with his two daughters Brittany and Nicole (The Girls). As a father, he spent countless hours working on treehouses, building go-karts, fishing on the lake, reading bedtime stories, and sitting by the campfire. In 2008 and again in 2014 Cal gained the title of Papa, which he wore with great pride. He leaves behind two beautiful grand-daughters who will cherish the many memories they have made with their papa.
Calvin was a devoted son, and loved his parents Cecil and Doreen dearly. He had a very close relationship with them and spoke with them daily until they left this earth. He was very fortunate to have a loving sister (Judy) and two brothers (Darryl and John) who loved and cared for him throughout his many health battles over the years.
Cal will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Brittany & Nicole, two son in laws, Jon & Curtis, his two grand-daughters Maddi & Brooklyn, his sister Judy (Rick), brother Darryl, brother John (Elaine) and many wonderful nieces and nephews. He has gone to join his parents Cecil & Doreen who have been patiently waiting for him. May he rest in Peace.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Interior Community Services and the volunteers of Meals on Wheels for their thoughtfulness and compassion over the past few years.
